I had H&R on my 2003 MCS with stock shocks. The amount of lowering was good and the ride was good (similar to stock). You will want to purchase adjustable rear lower control arms to reduce the amount of negative camber in the rear created by lowering, otherwise your tires will wear too fast on the inside edge.

H&Rs are excellent, and lower control arms will allow you to dial in your alignment correctly. Check Here:

I used the H-Sport Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms.
You do not need adjustable lower control arms for the front. The front camber will not change (at least not much) with lowering.

The Alta intake is decent- makes plenty of noise ie supercharger whine The JCW intake is better for a power increase. Any open top intake is going to suck in hot air from the engine. One with a top on it will help to minimize that hot air.

I see your in Jersey. check out http://nemini.org we are an active local group. Hope to see you out on a run sometime

Things are kinda quiet in the winter but spring through fall are quite active. The runs happen all over the place from NJ to CT. keep an eye on the meets rallies and runs section for upcoming events. I know there is one coming up in Feb on Long Island. there was also a weekly meet up in Jersey. you might know it. I believe it was mainly a VW meet but a mix of cars showed including a couple minis. even a classic mini made it once or twice.

I believe you are referring to the Garden State Euros weekly meets at the Lowes of Butler, NJ. March 20th is their Spring opener meet.
