Suspension M7 coilovers ... mystery solved!
Daflake, I hate you. Why did you send me the link to this thread? You're evil, man, just evil.
1. Allegations of a lie.
2. Questions on the implications for the sources for the parts we buy.
3. Questions about what we want from our vendors.
How did this get past 15 posts?

I knew you needed some excitement.
Why would this be a mistake? When you post to a forum you know its going to be public. When you respond to a private message I would expect that people feel that they will be kept private. If this isn't what people want we should probably turn off private messaging and force people to post everything in the forums.
I can understand that in certain cases there are things in PMs that may be so appauling that you want to expose it but it seems that there should be other ways to deal with a problem.
This might be another one of the general site policy issues that should be discussed in Site Feedback since it would effect what everyone should expect on the site. If so, start a thread there and we can discuss further.

Mark
I thought you were saying that it was up to the individual to decide weather or not to post "private messages". But maybe you were saying don't do it. What are you saying Mark? If someone were to post a PM here how would you handle that?
I would hope that there were strict rules against doing so myself.
don't ever commit to writing/PM/email anything you don't want posted/forwarded/shared. this goes for life in general, not just forums. all others see are your words, not the intent, inflection or (true) meaning.
Ok, guys so since it seems unneccessary to post the PM and it seemed a little unethical to do so(IMO) I will withold the PM's. I am sorry if I gave anyone false hope, I just don't feel right about "back-stabbing". So, it is what it is and this thread should cease to continue in my eyes. This will be my last post in this thread. So attack me if you will, I will not respond. I am done here. My interests in the NAM community are within the evolving of our cars and the crazyness of the newest products. I do not like to sit still and have my wheels spinning for too long.
Maybe we misunderstood. ??

Peter doesn't owe any explanation to NAM members as a group! As a vendor offering products VIA NAM - I have not seen any vendor statement by M7 on NAM in which the coilover manufacturing origin is raised or implied to NAM members as a Group.
The issue is a conversation between two people and that is the arena in which it should be resolved and not NAM.

. No pics of me next to my car though....sorry dude. Anyways....continue on with the thuggin, its cool
I do agree with you Randy-of webb motorsports. He is a very nice guy and has helped very much in the past. I am sorry for confusing my facts that I have never talked to him about the coil-overs, but now I think Peter should chime in and own up to the fact he told me that they were no where near Asia. This is not a matter of countries as much it is a matter of truth and lies.
Peter...where are you?

Wow! I guess the fan bois achieved their goals. The topic is suppressed and we are now talking about something else.
Ontherag (I assume that if you can make fun of my online name, I can make fun of yours): regardless if I have an agenda or not, Peter is a liar. I didn't make him lie. He achieved that feat all of his own.
RalliMINI and others: Are you saying that as long as you weren't lied to directly that it doesn't matter?
Mark: geezus, at least pretend to have some integrity. Even the vendors can be held accountable.

What more needs to be done? You know Peter lied, you know what he said and we can all guess why he lied....what more do you want? I think that's something important to answer...because i don't see where any of this is going now that chris talked to Peter about the lie (the whole point of this thread).

I have a problem with lying...especially vendors. But the fact that they never lied directly to the masses definitely knocks it down a level on the importance scale. He lied to chris, and for that i feel chris certainly deserves an explanation. We have no way (and no right IMHO) to know what Peter said to him via PM.....but the conversation happened.

However, you are right and I do agree with you, nothing more needs to be done. The silence speaks for itself.
I guess i just don't see the other side. If you're in a room of 100 people who are all just conversing, and you turn to the man next to you and lie. What would be the sense in you getting up on stage, directing all attention to you, and apologizing to everyone for lying to the one man that you were talking to? You didn't lie to anyone else, your lie didn't effect any of them or their lives.....i don't see why they deserve any kind of apology or explanation.

Anyway, I am just about done with this thread. As you said, there is nothing else to be done here. I will gladly discuss it further via PM with you, if you are so inclined, or you can discuss it on www.mininust.com. It is a lot more open on there without any censorship.
there's no lie here that I can see. what was posted and PM'ed was technically accurate (Korea != China or Taiwan). M7's intention of our expected inferrance is what's at question. A lie? Nope. Shady?

M7 said "not in china and no in taiwan".....if someone went on to believe what someone else told them.....they should've taken the time to explore the information provided to them in the vendor announcements before believing what they were told from someone else.
Again...if i stood up in front of the crowd and said "My name is Bob!" then went off and lied to the one gentleman and said "My name is Fred". If he went and told someone that my name was Fred.....they would say "no, he told us it was Bob" and the other guy would feel lied to and deserve an explanation. They should by no means just instantly believe that my name is Fred simply because one man told them so.
