stripped my stripes

After the run with everybody Saturday and seeing how nice the stripeless MINIs looked I decided to remove mine.. I figured I was going to go with a single stripe down the middle anyway so I would try stripeless for a while. At first I wasn't impressed, but over a couple of days it has grown on me and I think I may leave the stripes off

My husband's 03 MINI has been stripeless since the beginning. He loves the pure & simple look My Cabrio needs new stripes(they have faded badly). Perhaps I'll leave them off. Your MINI looks great stripeless

It's always a good idea to go back and forth on different stripes on the MINI. It makes it look like a new car each time. I have had prob 12 different looks to mine over the last 4 years. With and without stripes

C-Lop, did you have any trouble removing the stripes? Any suggestions on the best way to do? & how old is your Mini. I've thought of doing the same thing.

you can use a heat gun but it has been hot enough that you don't need to. just grab a corner and go, both came right off. My 12 year old did the second one. I am going to take and have the hood buffed, there is a slight fade that I can only see when my sunglasses are on ( this could have been avoided if I'd buy cheap sunglasses, lol)

I've been going back and forth trying to decide to stripe or not to stripe. One minute I look at my SS/BLK with clean hood and it looks great, then I see another MINI with stripes and mine looks like something is missing...

the way i figure is that the stripes are 50 -100 bucks a pop. I took them off just to see how i would like them. I can always order new ones and at the cost it isn't going to kill me

I just peeled the OEM stripes off my 05 HB/HB MCS last weekend. No heat gun required as it had been sitting in the sun for a couple of hours. They came off in one piece in about 2 minutes. A couple minutes of cleanup with Meguiars Quick Detailer and the bonnet looked as good as new with no difference in paint colour.

I had to wait about 4 days before my sport stripes were put on the Bruiser after I bought him. A wise decision, but I'm biased.

Now everyone wants to race me. No idea why.
