Is dyno fast street fast
Hey guys this thread was running on three facebook pages and started as fun but became more intriguing by the results that have been pretty shocking. Have a good time and no Ill words please. It could still be a fluke, but so far the BVH cars have been getting slower times than the stock head guys. We know they make bigger numbers but oddly no ones yet to translate to the street. As a fledgling head builder this is a mystery that needs to be cracked
I don't know about yall but I'm bored to tears of hearing about treadmill numbers, I'd join the hamster community for that. I can't be the only ones who's curios about who's actually fast on the street. No ego wars please, just for good fun and also for education and review on mods. If you have a documented 0-60 or strip time lets here them as well as your mods. It'd be fun to see how dyno performance translates to true performance.

check out Car and Driver October 2015 issue, lightning lap 2015 article ... and previous years of the lightning lap competition..... basically a huge discussion of this topic.
a dyno measures horsepower/trorque but horsepower alone is not what results in the best times unless as has been mentioned you are talking drag racing ... no turns .... and even then driver skill is a BIG variable. HP is one factor in an equation with A LOT of variables. HP vs weight for example . . .
Or for example, go to one of those 'good' go cart tracks where they have the fast ones and the REALLY fast ones. Put a GOOD driver in the average cart and an unskilled driver in the FAST cart and see who runs the fastest time .... and who ends up in the tires!
altho in this year's C&D test the most HP does win!
