VEGAS trip!!!

Anyone interested in putting together a Vegas trip for the MINI crew for January or February 2007????...

I was thinking how awesome it would be to have a bunch of MINI's cruisin down the 15 giong to VEGAS!!!

Maybe we could book some rooms and hopefully get some deals since we would have a large group... The Tuscany Suites is an awesome place to stay and is cheap for what you get.. It's one block east of the strip on Flamingo..

Just an idea that i thought i would throw out there... If anyone is interested, post here and lets see if we can get this going...

Allen

You could hang off till the end of March and join AMVIV for 300-400 MINIs and Minis in Vegas. Have a look at www.AMVIV.com

Don't just take the 15.

Come up south thru Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms and Mojave. Spectacular open windy and fast roads. Perfect MINI stuff.

I'll be posting the route I recently took to Vegas as well as crappy pics.

Nononono...I didn't think of it. Every day is a day in Vegas to me. That's why I moved here. Dominic from AZ planned the 1st AMVIV (with some help). We didn't take over until the 2nd year.
HD05, if you want to time your visit to Vegas to coincide with one of our club events, you're welcome to drop in and see us. Have a look at www.sincityminiclub.com for info.

My bad. I did know that, and I forgot. It's just that when I think Vegas, I think AMVIV. And when I think AMVIV, I think Agro.

Props to everyone who makes AMVIV awesome!

My understanding is that they have postponed the remaining work on the I15 I215 interchange until January. I checked because I have to go to San Diego next week for work. The January closures don't seem to have been scheduled yet.

Do you think Agro can take over the title of "Mr. Las Vegas" from Wayne Newton?

Get enough Jack Daniels in me and I'll sing Stairway to heaven in an Indian accent. It has been done in the past. I don't know all the lyrics to Danke Shoen.

Highly Recommended Route to Vegas

I don't have all my maps with me so I apologize for the holes. I left on a Monday morning and returned on a Friday afternoon. No traffic of note except for freeways on the way back. Roughly 8 hrs a trip, but that's with lots of stopping. It was a fabulous first motoring trip.

There is so much to see you want to go back. The MINI proved exceptionally comfortable.

Outbound
10 S to Palm Springs
62 N to Joshua Tree
thru Twentynine Palms (note to fill in precise route)
thru Amboy (note to fill in precise route)
thru Mojave Desert (note to fill in precise route)
- spectacular fast roads, whoop-di-dos
- beware of sand traps
- great area to clean the spark plugs
thru Baker
127 N
- dig the mineral formations outside of Shoshone
- blink and you'll miss Death Valley Junction and the Opera House
373 N (starts getting boring)
95 E gets you to Vegas

Inbound
95 W
373 S
127 S
190 W takes you into Death Valley National Park
178 S at Furnace Creek
- don't miss Artist's Palette Drive and Badwater
127 S to Baker
15 S

Roughly a 700 mile round trip. I'll post pics soon, they do not do justice to the scenery.

That sounds like a lot of fun! How long did the journey take compared to the old boring 15? Thanks for the info!
