i THINK it was a JB R53, pulled up next to me two lanes over on the 10 East this morning around 6:15. Both our windows are tinted so i couldn't tell if you were trying to get my attention by pulling up even with me, but when you backed off to exit Rosemead i flashed my rear fogs. I hope that you saw it.

 

It was PWB day in San Diego this morning!

1. Was behind one on Lincoln (? - I can never remember what street this is) waiting to turn right to get onto 163.

2. Got an enthusiastic wave from a 2nd one in traffic on 805 North, caught up and we followed each other until I went over to the 56 bypass lanes. PWB #2 was a lovely example with full aerokit with the black bumper inserts and black headlight rings.

3. From the bypass I saw PWB #2 meet up with PWB #3 on 5 North!

4. When I got to 5 North, I had a purple cabrio with chrome scoop in my rearview mirror. Not sure if I got a wave back as the windows were quite dark.

 

I was the second PW/B you saw on the 805 north this morning. I've seen you and your car couple times on the 805 now. I did have a rather "enthusiastic" wave this morning ! Coffee and my Mini, good times ! And like you said, I then came upon the other PW/B Mini. It was a couple in a R56 in the car pool lane. The girl kind of half waved but the dude pretty much snubbed me ! LOL ! they both gave the impression that they were above the "wave" !

 

Spotted a PW with an extraordinary body kit on Gaffey St. in San Pedro. (My first thought was Johnny.)
Since I've not seen an Orciari from behind, I couldn't be sure. But, since this is SoCal, it could've been something wild from M7 or something on a Mellow Yellow I saw Jan driving once on the 405.

Either way, it was a Friday so traffic was it's usual mess and I knew I'd never catch up.

 

spotted a chocolate brown clubman s on the 118 e yesterday tried to make eye contact/wave to him but after doing so, forgot i wasnt in my mini, i was in my sl, and i guess he thought i was trying to race him, he just took off went about 95mph before i flew by him, too bad he didnt know i was a fellow mini driver.

 

Spotted an older gentleman in a DS/S Clubman S. I was following you for a bit on the 405S and then we both got off on Sawtelle (Olympic/Pico exit) and went our separate ways.

 

Yesterday we were heading south on the 101 from Thousand Oaks and levelled up with SKBYBL<3 who is a pal of Octaneguy, that I shamelessly have forgotten the name of.

Anyway - I guess we can forgive you for not waving, seeing as you were holding a phone to your ear for many miles in the traffic

Haha that's hilarious--she's always a very enthusiastic waver too. We had lunch the other day and as a passenger she was waving to everyone lol.

 

I saw a CR/B Clubman MC in Yorba Linda on Imperial near Prospect I believe. Going to fast to wave, but maybe they are members here.

CR/CR with a double black strip in the center all blacked out. We cross paths on Crenshaw BLVD near the 10.

 

On my way to work (around 1pm), I ran across a convoy on the surface streets of Goleta. They seemed to be getting (back on?) the 101N. Needless to say, it was quite a surprise!

I don't check the regional forums often. So was there some event that I didn't hear about this weekend?

 

SCMM is having a three day club run to Solvang and surrounding area. That's probably what you saw.

 

I saw a fellow Socal MINI Maniacs member on the 22+405N this morning. A BRG/B MCS with a friendly young (!) chap driving. KLOS 95.5 sticker on the rear glass.

 

Got a nice wave from a gal in a CR R53 today on Madison in Culver City as I headed to see ebh and his MINI for some wax tips!

 

As I was pulling into a Chevron station for gas, I noticed I was being followed by two Red Bull Cola MINIs. Turns out they were stopping for ice. Needless to say, pilots and copilots were all very easy on the eyes. Probably my best trip ever to a gas station.

Too bad I was so shocked that I couldn't return it.

 

Someone with a bizarro version of my car parked in the front/right of mine today at the District in Tustin. Both dark silver w/JCW kits, even the first 4 digits of our license plates were the same. Mine has white roof/mirrors, that one had DS, stripes to no stripes, chrome to blacked out, stock grille to some mesh one, no front plate to drilled front plate.
