saw about 8 MINI's today when the wife and i were out near sunland house shopping. ok 2 of the MINI's i caught at the very last second and couldn't wave it was too late. on dark silver cooper i didn't even realize was behind me until he turned off. i was looking at a map- yeah i'm old school- remember those things... maps? my bad on those 3. the other ones i flashed or waved and no responses. but, we did go for a little "run" down la tuna where i saw a lady in a cabriot pulled over to gaze at the landscape i gave her a honk and she waved happily back. i was in the indi blue cooper!

then we stopped at target (yuck) on victory and vanowen when i was leaving a man and his child 3 spaces down were getting into a silver S. i backed out and i rolled down the window to wave or say something and he turned away. i'll give him a break though he had a cane and looked as if he was having a bad day.

 

Saw a PS/Black R53 with the license plate Coopahh merging onto the 405S from the 105W today. I wasn't in a MINI unfortunately.

 

Saw a Chili Red MCSc on the 405S exiting Sand Canyon, license plate with 5RAZ something. Nice couple waved at me, gave them thumbs up, met at light, waved again, honked, then went our seperate ways. Good times

 

Saw Danny from MINI Corsa @ the intersection of Alameda and Riverside in Toluca Lake. Yo What UP DANNY!! Vegas in a few days homie, don't puke on my shoes!

this weekend got a wave as our little group passed a cabri, can't remember the color but it was near the Santa Barbara Mission. I was in a line of classic British cars including an old Mini.

Then in Riverside last night got a wave from a red MINI, not sure of R53 or R56 it was dark, but she turned and crossed in front and gave a wave. So I waved back of coarse.

 

R56 LaB/B here. I got a wave from someone with a sweet grey MCS on Birch and Brea near Daphne's last week. I thought I threw a peace but if it looked like the bird I'm sorry!!! I'm slow on waves.

My roommate that was with me thought I was crazy because of my initial response of "whoa, cute hair."

Got flashed by a blue MCS with decals/graphics heading north on Sepulveda (near Palms/Sepulveda).

 

had a blue cooper following me on laurel canyon yesterday. when i turned off onto oxnard i waved, not sure if the driver saw me wave though. i was in the indi blue R50 and i DID wave .

saw about 15 MINI's this week, not one wave back though. had a red S pull up right next to me on kester and i looked over at the driver for some MINI fellowship and he stared straight ahead and wouldn't look over. it's getting to the point where i'm just going to flash my hi beams at oncoming MINIs. rather than wave. i'll wave if someone is next to me. FWIW the non wavers/ aknowledgers always seem to be driving brand new MINI's. it's almost as if they are afraid of making any sort of "contact" with anyone.

wow. studio city is THE MINI hub! saw about 10 of them today and i was only only ventura between coldwater and eleanor! out of the 10 though, only 1 honk and wave! the owner of the yellow S with the graphics was the honk and waver. nice to see you!

 

saw a blue r53 on 405S exiting jamboree today around 5:10PM. waved a bit in the car but didnt get a wave back

 

Ok, did I see you this morning--from the 91E to 57N? I came upon the PS R50 this morning--drove behind him, then came alongside to wave--and he just gave me the nod. Not sure if that was you or not. He had a license plate frame that said Dreamworks. Thought for sure you would acknowledge me this time, lol! Ok, so I did look different--was back on my 17's with my new paint job.

I know whatcha mean man.. I know whatcha mean. This morning on my way to work, I saw a bone-stock ABM R53, same year and everything as mine... and not only did he not wave, he slowed down when I paced him. That's the ultimate... it was my exact twin!!! Oh.. it's like being cast aside by my own kin... I'm so sad.. so... so sad...

Spotted a PW Clubman on National/Robertson. I think I freaked out the older gentleman that was driving it cuz I was a wee bit enthusiastic with my waving. I had just finished my first nursing theory final and was dying to get home and dive into the bag of cookies sitting on my passenger seat. Oh and the driver did wave back and that's all that matters.

 

And a few more spottings:

An early ('02 - '04) Geoffrey twin on Venice / National.

BRG R53 with the checkered boot and bonnet stripes heading south on Westwood blvd towards National.

JB R53 that was somewhat blacked out and had a splitter. This was on Westwood Blvd near Pico.

I spent a lot of time driving today..

 

Great drive into work this morning.

Two grey/W R53's, a PW/PW R53, and a twin. I was at the Arco at Lapalma/Kramer in the front bay. I look up and an AB/S R53 Checkmate is stopped, waiting to go S on Kramer. The driver waved and I waved back. It was a special bonding moment.

A good drive it twas.

i spotted you again today! i swear i'm not stalking you or anything, but this is like the 4th time i spotted you! i was driving down sepulveda and saw your car parked, near venice. fender looked a bit scratched; everything ok? we'll meet someday in fact, come to the montrose rally, if you're not already

 

Saw two more MINIs today, waved at one but the guy didnt wave back. It was a black R53 that looked pretty modified. He was turning right heading North on Harbor in Santa Ana. I was the BRG/W heading S on Harbor if you're on this forum. Also saw a MCSc White with Union Jack mirror caps and front plate. I couldn't wave but at least I saw you

 

haha hello again. Stella was a victim of a hit and run while it was parked on Veteran. Came back to my car the next day in horror. Will be replaced in a month or two, hopefully. I wanted to go to the rally, but how unfashionable would it be to show up with a giant boo boo?

 

Hope the damage wasn't to bad... And don't worry we don't discriminate. We love all minis and will save one of the handicapped spots for you! We would still like to see you at the rally!
