...from two *very* cute girls in an IB/W Cooper with white racing stripes going east on Highway 52 in San Clemete Canyon in San Diego. Last night about 5 pm They passed me in my IB/W MCS as I was exiting.

License plate was "INDIE*B".

Made this graying Mini owner's day!

 

I picked up my MCS 3 on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and was driving home from Long Beach to San Diego, along the strech of the 5 by Camp Pendelton and was passed (I was in the slow lane trying very hard not to exceed 4500 rpms) by 3 MINI's within 5 minutes of each other also going south.

CR/W with strips and full aero kit...no wave
CR/W no strips...no wave
DS/B no strips...no wave



Yesterday in Clairemont Mesa at Balboa and Genessee, saw a kinda weird looking car coming at me...looked kinda like a mutant MINI...then realized it was a DS/B MINI with a black bra...hummm...glad I got a clear bra. Oh yeah, no wave

 

W/B SR91: Through the Santa Ana canyon, CR/W MCS got a big from the driver, a fellow, ahem, seasoned enthusiast, he continued on the 91 while I headed south on the 55 to drop my car off

S/B SR57: Nice PW/B MC...but got no wave (of course by this time I was in a loaner 330i and not BB!! Damn it would be nice to keep my car for more than a week or two...)

 

S/B 57: At 10:20ish am, spotted a hott Classic Mini, green with a white roof, right hand drive, awsome looking front end with low crome front bumper. Suoer sexy.. i couldnt take my eyes off it.... I waved and had to exit off at katella....
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

 

Today I was in Chino and I think saw more MINIs in a one-mile radius than ever:

Black Cabrio getting off the 10 @ Monte Vista (I waved, they waved back); DS in a driveway (i honk, they wave!); CR/W in another driveway (no driver), DS on the road (waved, got a wave)... All within a two hour timeframe, 3 for 3!*

An awesome MINI day for sure! My sister was with me- she got a kick out of the "MINI Cult" as she calls it.

*(and right after I was talkin' mess about SoCal Motorers not waving. Go figure!)

 

picked up our mini yesterday and drove from escondido to newport beach (mostly freeway); not a single mini did we see along the way. took pch south from newport beach to san clemente, passed one mini (electric or maybe space blue) that was heading north on pch in laguna beach. oh boy our first mini, wave! the other driver dodn't even look over at us....

saw another ahead of us but couldn't get up to him before we were stranded by a light, so he disappeared.

last night saw another brg/b on pico in san clemente but it was dark and he was gone before we knew it.

so, 100 miles on the first day, 3 or 4 minis and 0 for 1 on the wave....we're sure it will get better!

 

I'll look for you if you ever get up to LA beagle...you might even see my beagle "Buddy" in my MINI.

 

great...we'll keep our eye out for you guys! our little lucy got her first ride today... did well in the back in spite of no windows. she was a little hesitant at fist but got the hang of it

 

spoted and cooper convertible with the plates "OC GEEK" today on bake, then fallowed them a little ways down the 405

 

I think it's call purple haze, its light purple with a sliver-ly glow to it...

Well i spoted a Convertible cooper on the 15 south this morning...

and then on the 57south, i spoted a Sliver/Black cooper also

 

Met up with a Blue/White MCS w/an Angeles license plate frame transitioning from the S55 to the SI-5 around 8:00am this morning. Nice guy he waved as soon as he saw me. Unfortunately there was too much traffic to have any fun so we sat in rush hour nose to tail until I exited to the 133. If you post on NAM hope to see you out on the roads in OC again soon!

 

Tonight a little before 9, I played some Follow the Leader with a PW/B MC on I-5 south from around La Jolla Village Drive to Sea World Drive. Flashed my lights from low-beams to DRLs a couple times to say hello, then she took off at about 80-85 mph.

It was an 05 or later MC with a blonde woman driving. We exchanged glances (she didn't wave) when I was exiting onto I-8. Fun times!

 

4 vehicles in a BMW test convoy on Big Tujunga Canyon Road this morning, but no '07 MINIs. Darn!

 

my wife and i were stopped at pico and pacific coast hwy and a yellow cooper pulled up next to us (it needed a wash pretty badly ). the other driver stared straight ahead oblivous to us, so needless to say no wave. my wife (who drives the mcs most of time) commented she has yet to get a wave returned; i told her had the same experience. we laughed and i said that we need to try and keep it going anyway....not enough fun in the world as it is

 

Yesterday afternoon around 4 PM CR/W MCS with chrome & black wheels moving fast on North Rancho Santa Fe Road in Encinitas. I waved, but I don't think you saw us till it was too late. Methman was that you?

 

a couple cars of us drove up to FBT's shop. We saw a bunch of MINIs, but got one photo...

this was on the 73 North

 

i definitely see several a day in venice/santa monica/culver city.

pretty dirty dark silver on lincoln blvd in the mornings getting on the 90.
all black and pepper whites seem to be frequent, i'll get more details.


licoln blvd/west side defintely seems to be a good place for them.


still waiting for my mcs, so i don't wave... yet.

 

Got some enthusiastic waves from some folks in a Hot Orange cabrio yesterday. They were stopped at the light at Mission Center Road and Hazard Center Road - we were pretty far apart, but they spotted me and we exchanged greetings.

By the way, I'll be tooling around in a sweet, beige Saturn Ion (with crank windows!) tonight since my MCS is at Brecht (overnight for an oil change and Inspection 1?!). I'm sure I'll stick out like a sore thumb on I-5 and 805 tonight, so be sure to wave!

 

I've seen quite a few MINIs here in HB. Anyone else live in the area?

 

I left a "I've spotted you" card on a CR/B MINI in Murrieta today at Sam's club. License read MINI ZM. Nice car, I'm glad you didn't seemine. It's so dirty I'm embarassed to claim it. (washing it tomorrow)

Saw two PW/B at Fashion Island at about 12pm today. The one that had the bonnet stripes was a mcs.

 

Does anyone here know Mark M? He drives a red JCW with 18" wheels and PSS9 coilovers. I met him at Willow Springs last weekend. Just wanted to let Mark know that Mr. Ferrari took some action photos of him on track:

i saw that one pulling out of sams club too! looked lowered but haven't seen it around before.also seen a black and white one around lately and a pure silver/black,just like mine but "justacooper"!
