Tuesday's sightings........
Riverside: Blk/Silver MC with tribal flames and a D.E #3 on the back cutting through the Shell gas station at Adams (I was walking to lunch), later in
Diamond Bar: S/B MCS w/ custom exhaust cruising up Grand Ave from Chino Hills to DB...I would've waved but was in the wife's Blk/Gld Expedition (BB was getting her fourth windshield in the past 14 months!!). I did see that Accord 2dr try and take you out!! Nice sounding exhaust.

 

Anyone spotted my old baby yet? You cant miss her. Trust me.

 

Saw a JB/W Cooper getting on the 10W at Overland in West LA this morning. I was a few cars behind in Mini Knievel and was unable to catch up in thick traffic before I got off at Lincoln in Santa Monica. The noteworthy thing was the wheels on this car. It seemed as if it had red wheels with polished lip and MOON CAPS. I love the retro look (would have Cragar SSes or Am Racing Torque Thrusts on Mini Knievel if I could get them in 4x100!).

Nice job. Hope to get a better look next time.

 

I saw that MINI a few days ago at Olympic and Bundy maybe around 5 PM. It did look very nice.

Yea, they still make 'em, but not in a 4-lug design (makes sense with the 5-spoke layout with the lugs between the spokes). I've got American Racing Torque Thrust D's on my Pontiac - another classic musclecar wheel in production since the 50's (although it's aluminum now).

 

WOW! i spoted another MINI in Victorville and he waved back!!

I was in Victorville over the weekend visiting the parents. I saw a couple of MINI's around there. Spotted a HB/W MC at the Starbucks off Bear Valley close to the 15. Saw an MCS CR/W on Bear Valley going across the bridge over the 15. Saw a PS/B MC on Main street bridge over the 15 going towards Hesperia and the passenger waved back.

If you see me in that high-desert area with the top down, burning in the desert sun like a fool feel free to wave in my direction!

5/16 - Saw an MCS PW/B at an auto shop off Valley in Alhambra (hope things turned out ok for it). Spotted a MCS CR/W going west on Valley passing Atlantic in Alhambra. Also saw a yellow MCS with (i think, hard to see when you're going the opposite way on the freeway) flame decals on the sides of it going south on the 710.

Spotted a Black & White-- no not a cop car... in San Bernardino of all places! MINI sightings in San Bernardino are rare but becoming more prevalent (esp. on and around the CSUSB campus). However I mention this one because I waved... and got a wave back! Excelsior!

 

Tonight, 05/16. 6:00 pm-ish. E Bound I-8 near the 15, a brand spanking new SB/PS MC


then around 6:15 coming west a BRG/W MCS near Grossmont Center.

 

Seen dozen's of MINIs lately in the IE...however no waves as I have been two wheelin' it since BB is at Crevier. So if ya see some fool on a white sport bike wavin'...it's just me (that goes for the DS/B MCS on the EB91 this morning, young female, never looked over at me though..l pulled in front and motored on)

 

I was at Willow Springs this past weekend, the main track watching the Cobra club, and I could see over on the Streets of Willow Springs track, a white roof MINI going around.

Saturday was great, I was a front runner in the group, we were doing Counter Clockwise Streets i.e. downhill... but Sunday, they made it Clockwise, and I just dont have enough power for the uphills compared to the other cars that were there, nor power for the long straight and I got beat :(.

 

Hey CamelPilot, glad to hear you had a good time. Are you going to go to Willow Springs June 3rd/4th for the BMW club event? I may go to watch, probably just Saturday though. And I'll probably spectate at the autocross at Hollywood Park as well, which I see you will be at.

 

I won't be at the Willow June 3/4 event unfortunately. But yep, I will be at Hollywood Park, you better come and support the 20 MINIS THAT WILL BE PARTICIPANTING!!! WOOOOHOOOO.

In Dana Point I can't drive 2 or 3 blocks without seeing one it seems. There are a ton of them here... and it's all good .

 

Spoted two MINIs on my way yo work today

First one: Blue/White with a White wide one stripe down the center, plate had the word Toy in it, i didnt have my glasses to see the whole plate when he pasted us this morning.

I was in the VW mk3 that was painted flat black with a white "starsky and hutch" strip. On El Toro around 7:45ish

Second: 5North around Irvine, spoted a Cooper S DS/B

Once again, i was in the primered VW with the RatFink sticker on the back window...

.... i want my MINI back!!

 

i spoted several today... between 5:30-6pm

4 in 15 mins!!

the 5 south near Irvine
1: Sliver/black top
2: Blue/white top... i waved
3: Black/black with black tail lights

then on lake forest, a dark sliver/black top with tinted windows

then 5 south, a PS/B with black bonnet stripes

 

Sounds like Irvine's been moving some product.

 

Great day for Mini Spotting's - caught 6 today - most I have ever seen.

DS/W MCS - La Costa Ave West Bound @ El Camino Real around 7AM

CR/W MCS - Poinsettia Starbucks around 7:30 AM

CR/W MCS - Aviara Parkway around 8:45 AM just caught a glimpse of you as I zipped around the corner.

CR/W MCS - Rancho Santa Fe Rd around 9:00 AM - I waived, looks like you had a coffee cup in your hand.

CR/W MCS - Via De Fortuna in Ranch Santa Fe around 9:15 AM

And Finally another CR/W MCS in the parking lot of the Encinitas Chili's restaurant around 8:30 PM. My son really likes your British flags and those wheels.

Judging by all the CR/W's I saw today, I must have bought the wrong color!

 

That drive out through Rancho Santa Fe is the best! Well, as long as you don't get stuck behind a truck with a lawn mower in the back...
