Yesterday in San Diego, we had Rolling British Car Day. The run started at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Costco, went up Highland Valley Road and then split into Easy, Medium, and Long routes through the mountains. About 120 cars, including MINIs, Minis, Lotuses (Loti?), Jags, MGs, Triumphs, etc. - all running in the rain. There were a significant bunch of brave souls in open cars, including one Moke and several Lotus Super 7s. Great fun.

101 going East near Woodland Hills--coming back from VCR, I saw a PS/Blk Cooper flashing his rear fog lights at me while I chatted away on the phone. He flashed them about a dozen times, and all the while, I was like, what's wrong with those lights?? Then when I came along side, I waved, you waved back and exited--then it dawned on me you were flashing me all that time. Sorry bro! I'm not used to those red fog lights!

Just saw an MCS pulling into the Cerritos Mall this morning. Nice-looking young lady behind the wheel.

Yesterday, on northbound 605 (just north of 105) I saw a British Racing Green MCc with license plate CUBN JON. A few minutes later on the eastbound 210, I saw a DS/B Cooper (exited in San Dimas). A quarter-hour after that, I saw a Pepper White/B MCS passing through Ontario. All waved.

 

Spotted today in my fair city of Riverside: Blk/Blk MC__C (didn't see if it was an 'S' or not) near 3rd street, tinted windows so couldn't see a wave. LY/LY MC with custom plate "YELLOPRL" Yellow Peril or Yellow Pearl? Nice looking with body kit too in the Canyon Crest Towne Center, never saw the owner, as I left I saw it getting washed. Nice ride!! We are getting more numerous...now if we could just get either Savage or Riverside BMW to start carrying MINIs!!

 

If only, Gomez! I have called them and pleaded with them to submit an app sp they could sell MINIs. I can dream though. It would be so nice to have a dealer so close!

I agree, we are growing in numbers out here! There are a ton of them in Murrieta!

Saw you today on Culver between Centinela and 90. I was in the RG/S MCS and exchanged waves. Wild coincidence, was just reading the detailing thread as well as your forums and was shocked at the work!

We'll have to meet in person soon! I work in Brentwood and live in Long Beach so I'm driving that way often.

Very nice MCS you got there! I looked over and waved, and didn't expect a wave back. Nobody waves in the Marina area, and that explains it, you aren't from around here!!

Yep that was one of them, Juan. She definitely works at one of those stores, Macy's or Nordstrom. The other one was one of those creamy coloured jobs (sorry not up on all of our colours).

Got some waves today (Saturday) in Riverside: CR/MCSc, followed up Central in Riverside...15 minutes later a DS/MCS by the Riverside Tennis Center. Anyone here?? It's always cool to see MINIs in RiverCity

 

yesterday 4/23 approx 10:30am. saw a caravan of 15-20 mini's going towards laguna beach through the canyon. i was in the DS/B MCSa in the opposite direction.

 

They were most likely SCMMers. There was a GTG at a place called the Neighborhood Cup in South OC that morning with a few quick runs afterward.

Yep..that would be us - a group of us (SCMM) went up to a vista atop of Laguna Beach after our OC G2G in Aliso Viejo. I believe we waved to you. Join us next month - every 4th Sunday @ the Cup.

4/25 EB 91 Santa Ana Canyon a B/W MC with a young lady driving (I think she was a new driver as she was VERY carefull!). Didn't get a wave, she was eyes forward the whole time . Cruising thru Riverside, BS/B MSC on Magnolia, no wave, he was too busy on the phone .

 

B/W MC westbound on Burbank Blvd. just west of Buena Vista.

The second one I saw was an Electric Blue that was once Chili Red MINI Cooper.
