2 RMW equipped cars break the magical 1:30 barrier at Streets of Willow
Looks like the timing has been posted on the Redline Track Events Website.
Out of the 21 laps recorded and posted I see one instance of Jan having a lap time lower than 1:30 with a time of 1:29.746....

last I checked Jan was a drag racer not a road course pro. He seems to be getting better all the time tho. It will be interesting to see what happens when is driving skill matches the quality of his parts. :P
as Paul was there watching it with his own eyes
it's amazing that Vimes would sit and hit refresh for a week on the Redline site just to see what we told him ...... HAPPENED!
last time I checked, 1 lap sub 1:30 is still ONE more lap than your TURBO RACE CAR DID WITH A WORLD CHALLENGE DRIVER
my second time out I ran 1:30 which is still better than your race car ......

Unpossible.
The way Jan is flying around the country doing tunes, there should be no reason for anybody who doubts the quality of his tune and parts cannot just go see for themselves.

I don't claim to be a driving phenomenon that beat a "record" of a driver who has driven in the World Challenge.
I don't claim to have ever beaten a record that doesn't seem to be recorded anywhere.
Just keep telling yourself that's what I did, you'll be happier that way.
I don't have a turbo car.

btw.... so what hp is your car at now that you fixed the slipping clutch?
I guess it wasn't worth posting....
Now that the "official" numbers are posted, isn't it silly that there is still a debate going on about RMW cars going under 1:30?
so at what point is a record a record... I mean do we need it published in a book or something... does that mean that when Hubie ran a 10 in the MINI USA drag car that it wasnt a record... meaning I wasted all that blood, sweat and tears with him building that car?..
I think astrochex was being sarcastic to Vimes

Just kidding... I guess I have been in the wrong forum all these years. lol Anyway, I am currently working down in San Diego, if you guys have a track day at the streets in Jan/Feb, I'd like to join you, but, the Mini is back in KC, I only have the Miata out here, so, not sure if that would work, I wouldn't want to pass all you guys in a non-Mini. lol J/K again.
Thats because Road Racers suck and autocrossers rule.

they work great
here's an interesting find... the porsche owners club willow record... I dunno how they have a record since this guy only makes one lap... but ... I am assuming it's magic...
POC record 1:31:497

ha ha yes! which means that it accually has an easier drive... from what I understand clock wise is slower.. up hill or something.... maybe something magical happens... warp hole or something
Paul,
I went 1:30 that way and my car was not even tuned yet....
I was shifting at 5400rpm

Interesting, the POC times are for Configuration 1. Config 1 leaves the bowl off. Thats a nice chunk of track missing.
If you want to compare please use the same configuration of the same track.
You will note that POC does state a record time of 1:31:497 when using the bowl. Thats the video linked above.

That statement differs from what is posted on the POC website. They have a image of the track layout they use that includes the bowl. That layout is the same one that rustyboy marked up earlier to indicate the configuration used on the day they were there.
you try so hard yet fail so easily to misinform
I know... they have to be worth another magical second or two
it amazes me that with all of the proof, some just don't believe because THEY CAN'T DO IT
