Covertable Top Drain Issue Water leak into Boot

I just got my 1st Mini! 2013 R59 JCW Like new 13K on when I got it.. It has a issue leaking water into the boot from the top by the door. I found it has a drain plug. But not sure how to get to it or if that is even the issue.
Water got into truck and filled the compartment where the motor for the top is located, not idea at all.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

Just talked about here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-in-trunk.html

Also that seal on the window might need checked. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...Cooper_S&mg=54

# 3 and that it seals against the window.

#4 also https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/54342759406/

Make sure the hole is open. Its in that cavity.

This flap on drain was not in the channel so water was bypassing the drain holes.

Pic from the top

Also check your drain to ensure it is not stopped up.
So after doing reach I found the water drain ends should hookup under the chrome trim. This has stopped my leak! I will add pic !

Ah, the joys of an aging car!

Last month or so I've detected some water on the cloth surface in the boot of my Roadster, initially I thought it was because I'd taken my car cover off whilst wet and popped it in there but nope, upon further inspection I've got water pooling underneath the tool tray and green mould appearing on the cargo net in places. Joy!

Can't wait to get out there and check out the areas mentioned here and elsewhere, now if only the UK Spring wasn't just about 90% drizzle between the rain showers. I can put the cover back on to stop further ingress in the meantime but may just have to grab some dehumidifers as the boot lining is all pretty damp.

I would really like to see a good Picture of the drain!! When I put water in there ( it is a metal triangle part with several round cuts) the water afterwards come back in the plastic tub behind the chrome brackets where the cover is hiding when I drive open.

I am really desperate as I can not solve this issue myself. I don t want to spend money on it...it will cost a lot..I am sure...

I put also pipe cleaner a good one in it...it is working now!! but I am not sure that this is working well as I did it before and water came out besides the tires but now this positiv thing has stopped again.. sorry for my bad English.

Not sure anything can be fixed without some money
Have you tried to fit in a small flex cable and see if you can run it by the drain elbow. It likely you got some debris that the cleaner won't clean. Nest for dirt comes in and with the debris clog the pipe fast.
Secondly, as anyone found the exit under the car? I wonder if it comes through the wheel well. Haven't look myself.

Our car is always in the garage when not used and I haven't run into drain clog yet after 12 years of ownership.
