That is a nice looking car. Are those MINI wheels or after-markets?

@GEMSTER: +1 on the wheels and the stance! Do your new wheels support the TPMS? If so, was it a hassle to get that working?

Thanks!

No hassle at all getting the TPMS to work. As I have passive TPMS, I do not need to have a sensor inside my wheel.

I specced out a set of snow tyres and wheels at Tire Rack and they said I needed TPMS sensors. My previous MINIs (2003/2007) didn't have the sensors. Can anyone confirm either way what the 2012s have? Would it be on the window sticker or in the manual?

You can tell if you have active or passive by looking at your valve stems. If its rubber, then its passive. If its metal, then its active.

Your Coupe came w/ passive TPMS? Mine has the metal valve stems so (by your assessment) is active. I also have a Cooper S, perhaps that changes things?

Yes, it came with passive TPMS from the factory. I believe this is a Canadian model difference.

Just looked. I have metal stems, so mine's active.
