Steven,

How do you get away with European license plates in Illinois? We can't here in Iowa . Just asking.

BILL
That was not my car, that was from severine.

Jonack,

I imagine that you are bugging ASKMINI like I am. I, am also bugging my MA about, if the out of production is suppose to be this Saturday, then how come it hasn't gone to the body shop, paint shop, assembly and such if it is so close to being finished. With you following your ragtop, has it made to any of these points yet? My MA still says that it will be done on Saturday, if that is so, then they must have had roadsters already made up for the Spring and they are just taking mine out of stock, and finishing it with my build. Can they do that? How's yours doing?

Bill

That would be interesting. The reason that I bring this us, is that when I got the JCW, after it went into production, and four days had passed, the ASKMINI would tell me that it was in the body shop, then a couple of days later it was going into paint, then after that it would spend several days in assembly. Nine days after initial entering production, it was done getting on the train. It just seems so different this time.

I'm with you. Mine started on 2/22/2013 in production and is set to be finished on 3/5/2013 but they have no other data of where it is at in the process. The track your mini info in another thread says it takes 5 days to get parts ready and then only one day to assemble it. Not sure how that all fits? I am calling ask mini tomorrow to see if they have any update in where I am in the process.

2013 R59S/SO/Black Stripes/Manual ordered 1/30

The European plates are on a photo posted by severine68 who lives in France. Steven was quoting that post, it wasn't his photo.

UPDATE - I didn't realize this had already been answered when I first posted it and I can't figure out how to delete a post.

I think all you can do is edit the post and empty the body, maybe replace it with "This post deleted because ..."

My wife is traveling back to Russia next week. Maybe I can get her to have Georgi borrow someone's perfect license plate for my Lil Ragtop. That'd be an interesting conversation piece. Probably get confiscated at the air port. Maybe find an old license plate.

I feel like I can finally join the community (officially) - I finally washed and quick detailed the car today!

Just had time to Hydro Wash, and Hydro spray-wax and quickly did a coat of Nero on the inside. This was my first time using the stuff and I am 110% satisfied. I've got a bottle of Banana Gloss for when I have time to claybar and apply it right.

Anyways, voila!

Definitely a fan of Prima, now. We also washed my wife's Mazda 3 (Velocity Red) and despite that it's needed to be claybarred for about 2 years now it looks fantastic with just the hydro spray. It honestly looks like we waxed it the hard way.

Cooper Roadster Update

It's been almost three months with my new 2013 Mini Cooper Roadster. No name yet (well, we call it the black car :-).

The main road trip to date (we're heading out on the highway again this weekend) has been to the Oregon Coast north of Florence. Visited the Haceta Head Lighthouse and took a few nice photos. Here's one from a roadside overlook just south of the lighthouse.

Happy Motoring!

-Gary

Gary,

Maybe the black MINI, but it can't just be a car. LOL. Thanks for the picture. A nice looking ride!

Took Friday off to pre-drive some southern Iowa roads for a club drive next month, much of it done top-down in the comfortable mid-40s. It was a fabulous day of motoring.
