Hi everyone...new member here.
I will be picking up my 2014 JCW Coupe in the next few days and wanted to pick your expertise between the long (original) and short antennas.
Any preference to one or another and is the radio reception still clear with the short replacement?
Thanks again and looking forward to learn from you guys...

The FM antenna isn't actually in the "whip" that screws onto the car. It's built into the rear window glass. The antenna base houses the satellite antenna, and the whip part is for AM. If you use a shorter antenna (or none at all), it will not affect FM or satellite reception.

Thanks for the informative reply! So with the FM & satellite reception out of the way...is the AM reception affected? Just wondering, because I do listen to some games on the drive home from work.Originally Posted by ASKtheteach

^ what do u mean by that? removing the antenna will take out AM reception, not FM? Isn't that what he was saying

What I meant was if I replace the stock antenna with the short antenna, would the AM reception be the affected...or remain the same quality as the stock. Sorry for the confusion.Originally Posted by kyoo
