Waymotorworks carries a box you can wire in that will automatically recall the last sport mode setting. You can also use it to program an auxiliary function as well.
Here in CA, driving lights can only be used when using high beams - but during those times if I have remembered to take the covers off they do increase visibility.
I never understand what is so difficult about reaching down and pushing a button? I do it every time I get in the car. Saves money and is frankly very, very easy.
The position of the sports button has been a pet peev with me, Im sure they could have made the button flush and put it on the steering wheel or better still the gear ****....Just sayin.

+1, a retro dial that can be set, like on the Ferrari would be cool.
Yeah I wish you set it to come on automatically. I remember some workaround thingy that some have used. I tend to stall out if I don't use it. It's more the throttle than the steering for me.
Speaking of sport mode, is there a difference in gas mileage for driving using the sport mode?
If you have an automatic it will due to the change in shift points.
All of the newer models should see a slight decrease in efficiency from Sport mode due to the extra fuel used to create the pop & burble effect. I suspect that is small enough to not have a measurable impact.

Here's the deal. The best mpg is achieved when shifting around 2,000-2,500 rpm. That's almost impossible to do while in Sport mode because the throttle response is so much quicker. You will be at 3,500 rpm+ in the blink of an eye, and therefore get worse mpg. But the fun factor is worth it!!

It depends on how you drive the car but it won't inherently just use more fuel. In an automatic, probably a little worse MPG because it leave the revs higher. I consider my car the best in economy; smiles per gallon is very high. It's more important than mpg

Thanks for the replies; I've got a manual transmission.
