Just got an email from my dealer!!

Mine has gone into production 3 weeks in advance! He says it went into '150 status' which means he can not make any changes to my order. He also says things move forward fast soon as it hits this.

Woot!

PezRadar, if your production number is 363xxxx, then my coupe should be going into production. My prod number is 3629xxx... Fingers crossed, maybe I will call 866-ASK-MINI to see if there is a status update.

*Update*
Just called ASK-MINI and the rep. says that my Coupe is still in "On Order"/"Scheduled for Prod. Pack" (whatever that means, none of the reps seem to know that status code). Not sure what order they are going by when scheduling for production. Oh well, guess wondering about it won't get it built any faster. Would be nice to see some progress on it though. Bummer.

Geez,

I ordered mine in July, and I'm still ON ORDER. My guy says I was scheduled for week 36 - but now showing week 39!!!!???

I don't have connected/nav so that can't be it. I DO have ipod/bluetooth and HK. Maybe that has delayed us?? I'm bummed. I was hoping to get some motoring in before the snow flies here in Boston!!

I'm with you. Mine is still on order for week 40 with no production date. I have no Nav but did order HK and USB/iPod. No idea why my Coupe isn't being built right now.

It's kind of strange. I don't have Nav or Connected. Just like you. Only HK and USB/Ipod

Not sure what gives.

Mine was a week 36 build (which according to one of the reps is this week). I only have the HK system (no connect/Nav/Ipod). I cannot imagine the HK would be holding anything up. Well, it is only Wednesday. I just hope our Coupes can be built and on the dock for the Platinum Ray leaving for the West Coast on the 14th (going to be a close call).

So there are 2 Coupes in production, yours and PatM's. It'll be a race to the docks from here on out. I remember some person tracking his car in 07 or 08, and he could determine the speed of the boat, the wind, the whole deal. Actually someone else did it for him it was hilarious. These might be the first ever Coupes to be owned in the USA .

I doubt very much the cars will make this boat. Isn't it about 8 days for a build plus the time from factory to the dock. That is usually 2 or 3 days minimum I think. I think anyone would be hard pressed for that boat based on a build this week. When is the next ship after the Platinum Ray?

Yeah, the Sept 14th boat is looking unlikely. I am assuming that K-Line doesn't ship to the West Coast. However, WW does use other boats and shipping lines to supplement their fleet. But if it is on WW, then the next boat is the Asian King leaving Southampton on 9/27 and arriving in Port Hueneme on 10/19.

Production normally takes 8 days so it should be awaiting transport to the Port of Southampton by 9/15.

Unfortunately I think the 10/19 schedule seems more realistic to me. It's not easy to take but I think it's probably what is going to happen.

I still don't believe my Week 38 build was upgraded and in production (I have MINI Connect).

I called 1-866-ASK-MINI to confirm and spoke to someone personally.

He pulled it up on their system and confirmed that it was 'In Production' and said the online website would reflect it being 'In Production' in the next 24-48 hours.

YAY

I arrived home to find a great little message in my inbox from the sales manager at my dealership....

"PS. The car was moved to week 37, should see the Coupe October 20th at the latest!"

Anyone want to buy a late '05 R53 with less than 80K?
Now I am really excited.

Sweeeeet

Just got off the phone with ASK-MINI and my coupe has moved to "In production". I would imagine that it should be completed by next weekend. Going to be so fun.

I believe the build time is around 8 days. My understanding is that the first 5 days or so are for lining up all the parts prior to the actual building process. So, that means it should be completed on or before Saturday 9/16. If it is still the same process as when I ordered my first MINI. But at least it is under way and one step closer to completion.

Man... I've yet to see a single production number higher than mine yet (ski, your's is pretty darn close). Our Coupe will probably get built on September 30th (i.e. the last production day in September). Ha!

Congrats to everyone who's Coupe has entered production status.

Scratch that... I just checked the Owner's Lounge and it just changed from "On Order" to "Scheduled For Production". Sweet!

Still no movement for mine with production number 365*. I called ASK-MINI and the agent had no additional information and that it was in the initial scheduled for production with no assigned build date state.
OL still shows the ON Order state it's been in all along.

I know, patience is a virtue. I must be quite virtuous...
