Just picked up our 2012 JCW R58 w/81k miles. Pretty loaded with Recaro seats and original msrp of $41k.
Car is super clean..a few rock chips on the hood and front bumper but overall, the cleanest MINI we looked at by far. The interior is immaculate! Just brought it home today and pulled it back out to wash and noticed a big coolant puddle. So that's fun! 🤣

We just picked up our (new to us) 2012 JCW Coupe in WSM/CR.
Originally a California car, then Texas for the past 5 years, this early R58 JCW (11/2011 build) was equipped with nearly every available option at that point in time, including the "Championship Red (accented) Lounge Leather", plus the dealer-only 18" R113-based JCW Red Stripe wheels (original MSRP $3,029), plus the JCW GP2 diffuser, and some 'extra' graphics and blackout accents.
I've done a LOT of digging (warranty service history, build sheet, Monroney sticker reprint, etc.). MINI of Fort Worth helped me out on some of that, especially when it came down to unpacking the car's early service life. Based on the build date, this was likely one of the first 200 Coupes to reach the US, and one of around 85 in this color scheme that were produced (matching the "hero" imagery of the 2011 BMW media campaign for the JCW Coupe/Coupé). The extensie options list and early build date suggest this may have been a "showroom" model (at MINI of Stevens Creek in Santa Clara, CA), meant to inspire buyers with the kinds of options one could order on a Coupe. As equipped with dealer extras, this car would have stickered for more than $45k - a crazy number in 2012.
Today, the car has about 46,500 miles. This includes the drive home on rural highways from Austin to Fort Worth via Johnson City...at which point we made a "To Do" list:
Step 1 = Get it CLEAN. This car was absolutely filthy, with all crevices neglected. And after years of sunshine, without any recent waxing, the paint and even the glass are in desperate need of clay and polish. The vinyl graphics have fared worse and will need partial or complete replacement. It would not be an exaggeration to say that there were practically birds' nests growing out of the rear hatch hinges. The door sills looked awful. So...the car got a loving exterior wash (2-3 hours), and I spent another 4-8 hours just getting the engine bay and interior mostly clean. Amazingly, almost everything that looked damaged was just (very) dirty! Even the door sills turned out to simply be scuffed, and they polished out to like-new condition. In many ways, we are finding the car to be a diamond in the rough.
Step 2 = Get it RIGHT. The car is currently in the hands of the best BMW/MINI shop in town for a new thermostat (was leaking), brake job (front JCW Brembo rotors and pads were shot, rear need adjusting), and spark plugs / valve cover (was seeping a bit of oil all around the gasket). Fingers crossed that the timing guides and chain look good while they have the valve cover off. Once they're done, I'll be off to get new tires, as the current Michelins "look" good but have a 2018 date code and are getting stiff. I have a slew of other parts ordered, e.g., hatch and hood shocks, new cowl covers, one new JCW badge (I have the original, but it's broken), new puddle lights, air and oil filters, and much more. All told, this is an investment of $6-7k into the car, which you'll probably tell me isn't fiscally prudent. Is it ever?
Step 3 = Give it LOVE. I've refreshed my supply of Griot's Garage products and will start bringing this car back to life, inside and out. I've already done a lot to clean it, but it has the potential to be show-worthy. Aside from the very minor graphics and blackout details, and the M7 brace, we believe the car is as-delivered. I'll source a local vinyl expert (and possibly a detailer) to help me correct the graphics and/or get the exterior glowing. And then I'll slowly start to consider what we might add or take away in terms of 'upgrades' over time, both cosmetically and mechanically.

So...there you have it. You and whomever configured this car went a little nuts. Personally, I love it that online configurators tell me my selections are invalid when I am trying to price tires for 18" wheels on this car
Yep, it was the guy before me and he had money to blow, he had like 10 cars he owned (at once based on what the sales people told me) and this was the Hot new car at the time in 2012. He traded it for a new corvette and thats when i got it at vette dealer.
