R58 MINI Coupe Roll Call
Well I updated the spreadsheet. I called ASKMINI just a minute ago and finally got an automated response. The car is in the body shop with an anticipated completion date of Sept. 15.
I'm hoping it will be at the port by this weekend. Now I just need to find out when the next ship will be available. If I remember correctly it's going to be awhile. It's a 3 week trip to PH and I don't think the next ship leaves until the last week of the month. That kind of stinks. But hey at least it's getting closer.

I always get that stupid 'Vehicle has been scheduled for production with no production date' :(
So I then am forced to ask a real ASKMINI operator who then gives me exact info! :P
They probably think I'm a stalker now.
The automated system never tells me where my car is in production

Oh.. Ill try a VIN tonight!
EDIT: So I called through the automated service and used my VIN.. and was transferred to a live person who of course is not there. Haha.

That's happened to me just the other day as well. I really think it's how they update the system. They don't basically. I'm not sure why they can't get it right? I would try it again tomorrow.
Sure is a pain in the neck don't you agree?

Completion date Sept. 16.
The Aida leaves on Sept. 19, but I suppose it will most likely board the Manon on Sept. 26 for the ten day voyage to NY.
It looks like they don't update the automated system until you reach the body shop.

Thanks guys. since I'm in So Cal, I still have a long time to wait, but at least the process is moving along now.
BTW, it's very interesting to see that we don't have any week 36 built Coupes (AFAIK). A few folks said they had week 36 builds, but it looks like they're all being built in week 37. I remember when I first got my production number, my MA told me that, as far as he knew, there weren't any week 37 Coupe buiilds. Maybe he was right.

@jamesday24,
As soon as you move to "Scheduled For Production" on the Owner's Lounge tracking page, look under the "Review Order Detail" section and your VIN will appear in there (right under your production number).

@Cred,
That depends on the build week that has been alloted to your production number (and if it's been delayed or bumpped). Your MA should be able to tell you what week your production number is for. Mine was a week 37 build (i.e. this week), and it moved to "Scheduled For Production" in the Owner's Lounge the week before (i.e. in week 36).

Just got off the phone with ASK-MINI, seems as though my Coupe S (which has now been named "Jack S" after Jack Skellington from Nightmare before Christmas. Figured it would be a Halloween delivery so in keeping with the spirit, Jack S.) is in the body shop. The Mini Rep said that it should be completed by Saturday 9/16. Nice to see some progress. Looking like the Asian King from Southampton to Port Hueneme on 9/27 is the most likely transport ship for several of the West Coast Coupes.
Just checked my order again just to see if any changes. None thus far. Still says in the paint shop with estimated completion date of 9/15.
That's good news.
It's still a long, long way to California.

Still A Ways Off
For those of us on the west coast it still looks like a long time. Even if your car gets completed this week I was checking he WW ship schedule and the next ship leaving Southhampton for PH does not leave until 9/27/2011 with a scheduled arrival date of 10/19/2011.
Man that is a heck of a long time between build completion and shipment date. The name of the ship is the Asian King and it's the only ship that came up in the time frame from now until the end of the month. My experience tells me that another carrier will not be used. So we may be stuck with this.
I gotta tell ya that kind of stinks. So us west coasties might as well sit back and relax.
It's going to be awhile.

NYK-Line or WW?
@OfficeMaven,
So you don't think that west coast mini's are travelling on WW? I couldn't make heads or tails of the NYK-Line schedule and didn't see any of them shipping through the Panama Canal to Port Hueneme. Do you know which NYK ships are leaving Southampton and when?

@tcassa.
I think you can get the NYK schedules here:
http://www2.nykline.com/vesselschedu...nableCheck.nyk
From the looks of it, there are ships leaving Southampton destin for Port Hueneme on September 18th, September 25th, October 2nd, and October 9th.
I would imagine that both WW and NYK (and possibly K-Line???) are used to bring MINIs to through the Panama Canal and over to Port Hueneme.

SOUTHAMPTON 19/09/2011 BRUNSWICK, GA 03/10/2011 AIDA CA137-ADA 14
Book ItWW schedule shows a ship leaving on the 19th from Southampton. I hope I can get on this sucker. Arrival in Georgia VDC is 10/3. Not too shabby
@PezRadar,
That tracking thread has never mentioned NYK even though MINIs have been coming into PH via NYK for years and years. Also, I never said that it has to be a NYK ship. Only that I know for certain that NYK is used in addition to WW (as I've personally had 4 MINIs come into PH via NYK over the years).
