Thanks for this breakdown. I ordered midnight black. I might have ordered silver but the mini cooper I have now is silver with a black top so I wanted the coupe to look different. ski

 

I have a chile red MCS now and red as far as I am concerned is the only color to have. We'll my wife's is Pepper White but her does not look as good as mine. LOL Just kidding it's cool as well.

I just love the red color, especially with the stripe scheme that Mini has for the Coupe with the Chile Red color.

 

Frankly I thought it would have been more by now, but the fewer the better actually. It keeps the car more unique and I'm ok with that.

 

I once had a red convertible I drove to over 90,000 miles. It was a Toyota. ski

 

Interesting that half of the ones on order are JCWs. I always though the US MINI population was skewed to the higher performance end compared to the rest of the world, I suspect the Coupe will be even more so.

You are only 30something off from my production # but that means nothing as I ordered mine way back on August 6th I still don't have a production date. Long story.

 

Actually it probably DOES mean something since I ordered my coupe on Aug. 6 too. And by the way....I'm looking forward to what will from now on be the annual Penn State/Nebraska football game. Glad the Cornhuskers have joined the Big Ten.

I put down a deposit in June and completed my order for a Coupe' S - White Silver w/ Black Roof on August 8. I loaded it up. I have a 2005 Mini Cooper now so the S will be nice . My production week is supposed to be 36 (Prod Number 36572xx) but now I am concerned that it will be delayed...sad. I can't wait to get my new baby.

By the way, my dealer told me that they are only making a total of 7,500 Mini Coupes (for import to US) over the next 4 years (so production is very limited).

 

Got an email today from my MA. Production has started for my JCW Coupe. Yea! Chances are you guys' cars are in production as well !!

And I was told last week dealers received a communication that less than 1000 2012's will come the the U.S. That seems a little low, but who knows.

 

I find that hard to believe. If that were so dealers would be charging way over MSRP. That isnot the case. I never asked but my MA hasnever mentioned anything of the sort. But now that you mentioned it I am going to ask.

 

I agree Pat, but other than us crazies here there doesn't seem to be much buzz yet about the car. Once it's officially released 10/1 that could change.

 

I think that will be the case. You know Mini never used to do any advertising but as of late they have. I have a sneaking suspicion that you will see this little gem advertised. I think they will try and sell as many as they can. Couldn't afford to build it otherwise. (At least I wouldn't think so.)

I'm just glad mine is in production now. Getting closer and closer.

I'm calling my MA tomorrow to check on my production number. I don't want to miss tracking it.

 

I will keep you posted. The Mini tracking site still shows on order but that is typical. My last 2 cars had the same issue.

I still haven't sold my other car so looks like the dealer is going to get it. They need it the lot looks very bare. I was hoping to retail it but it's quit a bit of money for the average guy just to turn over in cash.

I guess a lot of people don't realize that they can get a loan from the bank for a private sale almost as easily as for a dealer. At least that has been my experience. I have bought several cars like that.

Unfortunately those who have MINI Connected/GPS probably won't go into production until the week of Sept 25th thanks to the tsunami causing shortages. I was Week 38 production but was moved to Week 39. :(

I was told my dealer was only getting 3 or 4 custom orders of Coupes this year.. and then 3 on the lot dealer Coupes (1 Coupe, 1 Coupe S, 1 JCW)

So yea.. 6 or 7 in total this year.

 

As of 6:30AM "Scheduled for Production" is now popped up on the tracking site. That makes me happy.
