This is the Ship I want to hop on..

The AIDA. It is in Belgium right now for a stop and leaves Belgium on Sunday and gets to Southampton on Monday. It leaves Southampton on the same day on Monday.

This ship actually goes to the NY port and straight to Brunswick, GA skipping Baltimore and Charleston, SC. Oddly enough it goes back up to Charleston AFTER going to Georgia.

It is only a 14 day travel time as opposed to the 17 or 18 day ones that a few others have.

 

Put my order in way back on August 8th and I'm still just in On Order status. At least I'm on the east coast and shipping will be relatively quick once my Coupe is finally built. Looking forward to seeing all your Coupes as they arrive.

 

Have you ever received an explanation for the long time frame between order date and actual production?

For the Best (West) Coast people there are two ships leaving Southampton shortly. One on Sept 24, the other on Sept 27. I am hoping to be on the Sept 24

 

Believe me I have it set on auto refresh. Now rounding the Isle of White. This ship does make a stop in Spain then off to the U.S.

 

So.. I asked my MA about my status.. and he tells me 'Your car will be finished early next week'

Wow.. he just lied to me.. awesome. I was hoping he would just tell me which boat it was on. The automated service and ASKMINI said the car was done yesterday. Guess I'll just have to figure out myself.

 

I did not get this information from my MA or ASK-MINI. I just tracked my VIN on the WW site. PezRadar as you are likely on WW line with a East coast VDC you can do the same once a ship arrives with a destination of your port of departure.

From what I can tell in case you are not aware
AIDA departs the 19th arrives in Brunswick, GA on the 3rd of Oct.
INDEPENDENCE II departs the 24th arrives in Brunswick, GA 12 Oct.

Yea I know - Still not showing the VIN on the WW tracking site.

I emailed my MA back asking him 'What was going on..?' He said that it is still in Oxford! :(

Apparently it is finished but they are still doing Quality Control which is what the ASKMINI line said they were doing yesterday. Doh! :( I don't think I'm going ot make the AIDA which is the 14 day voyage.. The Independence is the longer trip.

 

Interesting about the quality control stuff. I remember hearing that a certian number of MINIs were given a more in depth quality control after production. My Coupe completed production yesterday and ASK MINI currently states "Your vehicle production is complete and it is waiting to be rleased to the carrier". I suppose that means that I moved through "normal" quality control and am now just waiting to go over to the port of exit.

 

Now were making some progress. My JCW Coupe is booked on the ship Grand Venus. Which leaves Southhampton on 9.18.2011 and arrives in PH on 10.11.2011.
Voyage Number 0042-GRV.

Now were getting somewhere. I sure am happy my car is on it's way. Hopefully there will be no weather issues are delays.

Keep checking the website for your booking. It may be on the same ship as mine. Is yours coming from PH as well?

No. Texas MINI's go through Brunswick Georgia. That is why I'm hoping to get on AIDA on the 19th.

Which website did you check to see you were on Grand Venus? And who owns that ship? WW, NYK-line or another shipper?

The issue is that my dealer says it is still in Oxford as opposed to being at the docks. The WW site is where I would track it if I am looking for which ship it boards. AIDA (the ship I keep referencing) is a WW ship.

 

Understood but have you tried to put in your vin anyway? Dealers have been known to give bogus information. (Did I say that out loud? LOL)
