I'm not surprised that MINI is doing some random QA on these early Coupes. You definitely want them to catch any issues at the factory even if it delays your car a few days.

Quite a surprise, but I awoke this morning to find that ASK MINI had updated to: "Your vehicle is in transit. Contact your dealer for further tracking information." Thus, it looks like my Coupe is now afloat.

It's strange as there is no record of my VIN on any WW ship and so it must be on a different carrier's ship. Best as I can recall, NYK had a ship that left for Port Hueneme back on the 18th and they have another one that deprts on the 25th. So unless ASK MINI is way behind and my Coupe actually sailed way back on the 18th, I have no idea who's got it.

@OfficeMaven: Fantastic News!! Yours may be the first one to hit the streets of OC!!

ASK-MINI has updated mine to "In Production with an estimated completion date of Oct. 3". Seems a bit longer than I remember but I don't think a boat leaves Southampton for Port Hueneme until the following week anyway.

@OfficeMaven: Very cool news indeed. Contact your dealer as they will be able to provide shipping details. Let us know what you find out. Pretty much looks like You, theGeekGuy, tcassa, Silvernewt and mine where all waiting for a ride to Port Hueneme. Should be interesting to see if anybody else made the boat. OW tells me I am still waiting in port.

@jbs111,

Well, I'm sure there are other Coupes on whatever ship I'm on as well, but it probably will be one of the first dozen or so customer Coupes driving around the OC.

Congrats on your Coupe going in to production. The 3rd does seem a bit longer than the norm from when you get the "In Production" status update from ASK MINI (I think it's normally only 8 days). For my Coupe, ASK MINI updated from "Your vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" to "Your vehicle is in the body shop with an estimated completion date of 9/16" on September 14th. By September 17th ASK MINI stated "Your vehicle production is complete and it is waiting to be released to the carrier". Thus, I went from knowing it was in production to knowing that it was completed in only three days. I suppose that it would have been nicer to get a bit more warning about the process like you have though. The waiting stinks, but it's the not knowing that is even worse.

@jdurdick,

Yes, I'll have to drop my MA an email and ask him if he knows what ship it's on. Unless ASK MINI was way off base for my Coupe, then I'd imagine that we're all on the same ship (assuming all of you guys were production complete before today). One thing I did note is that if it is on a NYK ship, they seem to make the journey to Port Hueneme in only 15 to 16 days as opposed to the 21 to 23 days it takes for the WW ships. Either way, it's looking like a early to middle October delivery.

I have dropped a email off to my Dealer as well to see if the car has shown moved to their inventory (which happens once its loaded on the boat). If I find out anything interesting will let everybody know. I am hoping for a second or third week delivery in October.

All right. Now you guys are making some progress. It seems like nothing happens for a long time then bang your on the road. (Ship) I think all the data systems are way behind one another. When you get your Mini it will all be a distant memory.

@jdurdick : These look to be cargo container vessels rather than RORO car carriers. I am seeing the same thing and trying to figure out how to find their car carrier schedules. Hmmmmm

TheOfficeMaven - Yea check with your MA on your boat. If NYK schedule doesn't show it then you may be on an earlier boat! (Just the system didnt update) Or you may just be experiencing some crazy glitch again.

I am still at port :( My car has been finished since the 16th! And it is just SITTING there.

FINALLY! Production Date is Here!!

Got the email from the MA this morning. Scheduled for 9/30 production. Got the VIN! And it looks like my white silver/silver roof combo has "stuck" so I have my fingers crossed!! Although the USA configurator went online after I ordered, and shows black as the roof/mirror option for White Silver - if it DOES go through it's going to look amazing!

So fellow coupe-a-holics send some good karma my way, OK???

Looks like I may see it in time for a late October road trip!! woohoo!!

Awesome job Artguy! You're going to have an extra special Coupe with that color combo for sure.

jdurdick,

Ha! I just called ASK MINI again and it has now reverted back to saying: "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessle." Talk about a big tease... Wow!

I haven't heard back from my MA, but I assume that I'm still stuck at the port with everyone else at this point.

Agreed the White Silver with Silver is going to be a nice combo, hope they allow it Artguy.

@OfficeMaven bleh, sorry to hear that. Was hoping at least one of us made it away. I have checked the other vendors and pretty sure we are stuck on 9/27 with the Asian King, going to be long wait though not as long as once its floating across lol.

Yes, shipping from Southampton almost two weeks after production has completed is just a little bit ridiculous I have to say. Ah well, what ya gonna do.

Agreed. It is pretty ridiculous.

Its amazing because my car was ready for that boat that left last Sunday.. which meant my car would have arrived at the VDC on the 29th..

Now it won't get there until October 12th (That is if it even gets ON that boat.)

Zyamfier, what day did you find out your WWL booking info on their site? My car got to port not much later than yours and I've been checking every day, but WWL still has no record shown. Since next vessel departs tomorrow wondering at what point does the car show booked? Thanks!

Booked on the 15th and loaded on the 17th. What VDC is your car being shipped to? Sometimes they are not shipped on WWL.

Be sure to complete your info on the SPREADSHEET if you would that way all can follow along.

I'm now getting worried.

The Independence II which has now arrived in Southampton and is hitting NYC, Baltimore, Charleston, and Brunswick VDCs on its journey is still coming up with 'No Records Found' on the WW tracking site (Yes it is a WW ship).

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh If this ship leaves and does not have my car on it.. I will flip a lid. My car has been sitting idle for 7 days in the UK with MINIUSA just stating 'It is waiting a shipping vessel'

:(
