Looks great Pat! Nice choice.

My car is in the back show room at my dealer and supposedly locked up to keep out the riff raff. LOL MA says people love it. Saturday is coming soon!

I see the configurator has finally been updated with the correct price for Laguna Green. But it also still allows you to add sports stripes for some reason.

I saw that, too. And apparently the whole stripes situation is what held up my production. Sure, the dealers can't place the order with the stripes, but it's a letdown when you have a pretty picture in your head.

BTW because of the whole stripe-lag thing, my dealer is putting on the black stripes at no cost. It was supposed to go into production today but I haven't been able to get that confirmed, bleh.

so we basically ended up with the same deal since you paid $1k for the color with free stripes and I paid $500 for the color and $500 for the dealer-installed stripes. I just hope they do a good job. I am really bummed about the lack of the green stripes though. Can't they just paint them on instead of the whole decal thing?

Sorry, but $500 for dealer-installed stripes is rather pricey. Specifically because you could probably find a local paint & body shop to paint them on for $500-750. (That, and you could likely find a local vinyl graphics installer to do the vinyl for $250-300.) I've done stripes both ways on my previous R53's.

I am sure you will be able to find someone near you who can do the green stripes for you in either vinyl or paint. It will make just like your vision!

Yeah, I know. I raised the question about it really costing that much and they gave me a line about needing to do a lot of cuts and it taking a lot of labor. In the end it was a bit of a wash since I went in prepared to offer to split the difference with them on the paint color if I had to and pay the $250 for the factory stripes.

But since I have plenty of time before the car arrives it is probably worth checking around local paint shops. There are a couple that are pretty highly rated.

My Coupe Is Now Delivered

My wife and i took delivery of our Coupe today. I'll post a couple pics tomorrow. Too tired tonight.

It was a fun drive home and the car looks great. I have some driving to do.

Motor On

Good news, the Asian King has pulled out of port as of this morning. Guess that means 8 more Coupes closer to hitting the road soon.

I have not seen any of the Coupes planning on incorporation of the driving lights other than the one on order for my wife. Are any of you planning on adding the driving lights? What are your thoughts on how they will look on the Coupe?

I thought about it but decided I liked the clean look of the front end. On a standard MCS or other model of Mini I think they look great. Also with the JCW I didn't want to block any of the cooling area.

Added a set of black ones to our JCW. Not worried about the cooling on the car being blocked by them.

I've seen a photo of a Coupe with driving lights. I'll see if I can find the photo again.

According to OL and my MA, my coupe has already been processed through the VDC and been released to the carrier. OL has it as a delivery date to the dealer on 9/25. Which means I should have my coupe by next weekend. W00T. Soooo stoked.... as my MA said... it's going to be AWESOME......

Awesome news tcassa. So far no update on mine. OL says its still en route (which I doubt since vessel has sailed. Ask MINI says its waiting shipping so hopefully that means its clear of the VDC.

You mean 10/25, but that's great news.
