Pulled the trigger... Base S Coupe... CR/S... Stick/Cloth... Ordered it today... *I* guesstimate it will be here in mid Jan 12..... almost four years since I got my first mini... the wait begins.

I finally picked up my Coupe S on Thursday night and I love it! It is such an amazing car. I really loaded it up w/ all the bells and whistles since my last cooper was pretty basic I wanted more this time. Still trying to work out using Mini connected, juggling the Connected app, Pandora, Sirius and iPhone iTunes playback for music (there are so many choices but I can't complain just a bit confusing to get to each source). I ordered the Satellite gray leather seats w/ black trim and Mini Yours Leather Dash in satellite gray and it is worth it I think...since there is no sunroof, I appreciate the lightness in the car. I know it is a lot to pay for a little bit of leather but the way it sets off the striped chrome dash is really nice especially w/ the satellite gray leather seats and silver white body w/ black stripe. Here are a few pics. I need to get back to driving it around.

I've already backed off the gas a couple times to keep it from getting air time.

If I knew about the Recaro seats becoming an available option in March I would have held my order until then. Still will be adding the Recaro's, black taillights, and fixed spoiler when they become available in March.

 

Man they are making this tuff, that cuts it real close to AMVIV

 

just spoke to a dealer in NJ that will take $500 of MSRP! getting close to pulling the trigger for a JCW.

 

Same wheels, I don't have the badge on my grill, what is that? Probably different interior, I just went with cloth seats, arm rest, and USB-bluetooth.

 

The long weekend came and went and my JCW Coupe sits at the VDC. It's been there for nine days now and it has been three months and five days since I placed my order at the earliest possible date because I wanted the first one from my dealership. Five weeks after the launch and I still have no Coupe. If I didn't already have a MINI to drive and didn't want the Coupe so much, I'd walk away. Not happy with MINI at all.

 

First off, I wouldn't blame you one bit if you did.

Secondly, usually they only sit at the VDC for an extended time if there were damages in transit, from what I understand. I'd be asking A LOT of questions before taking delivery.

 

I never thought I would hear that from you James. You must really feel frustrated to state that. But have heart you will be glad you hung in there. It really is a great car. I love mine more and more very day and I'm sure you will yours as well. The car is very fast. Much faster than I thought it would be and I'm still not "up to full speed" yet. I have about 1280 miles on it now and just love it. You will too.
Hang in there my friend. I know it's easy to say from someone who already has his but trust me you will be happy you waited it out.

My Coupe finally arrived at the dealership this morning. Since I expected it last weekend, I hadn't made arrangements to pick it up this week. Will try to get it tomorrow, but might have to wait until Saturday.

 

Can you really wait until Saturday?

We'll the wait is almost over. I'm happy for you James. You will be loving that car I'm sure. I had to drive my GTO today to get the oil changed. I have withdrawals after only 1 day of not driving my Coupe. You will have the same.

The Independence 2 just arrived in Baltimore!! Does anyone else here have a Mini on that ship?

 

Here's my MINI Coupe I'm picking up tonight. It doesn't have its Black Jack mirror caps on yet.

 

Looking good James, glad your coupe finally made it home.

 

Our coupe is on board with yours. Since the Wallenius facility's hours are only until 3:30PM on weekdays, they will probably be sitting on board until tomorrow and the Independence sails tomorrow probably in the evening.
