Got an email tonight with the words 'assembly complete' so delivery in two weeks why it takes that long to travel 100 miles is a mystery to me
My two year wait is almost over

My coupe is sitting in the dealership tucked away in the service space. Sorry about the poor quality cell phone pic but it is from my MA and SM. Looks like I should be able to take delivery by Thursday if not before. My post holiday work schedule is a bit tight. 12 hour days at work for the next few days.

I don't think the black Challenge Spoke wheels work with all Mini colors (more so for the Coupe) but with some color combos it rounds out the car perfectly. Pat's car is a great example of how they really tie the car together and make it pop! Beautiful!

Awesome to finally see a EG with CR roof Coupe! Looks as great as I'd hoped. My VIN just showed up on the OL so I've got awhile but your pic raises my spirits!

SUPER CONGRATS. I love that hot little red hat.

You're in the same situation I am, work-wise. My coupe should be rolling into the dealer tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll probably be taking delivery on Thursday.

Awesome looking JCW Coupe Pat!

So did you end up finding a no-holes way to mount that front license plate?

I bet it was great to see your Coupe, Cred. Nice photo in the garage with the matching red stripe on the wall, even.

Thanks and I did.

Johnf36 here on Nam fixed me up real nice. SS stud that goes into the tow hook hole with a nice powder coated (I think it's powder coated.) frame that the plate and license plate frame bolt to. Really a slick set up that works like the cat's meow. I'm real pleased. I was right down to the wire on the temp tab so it worked out perfectly for me.

Thanks goes to John for fixing me up.

Pat

Thanks Pat, glad we got you taken care of before you had to start paying a road tax for not having a front plate. It is just baked enamel, don't have the toys yet to do powder coating.

Your coupe looks great, excellent choice of seats. Have you considered having someone pin striping the rims with a red pin strip?

Hey what State did you have to drive to for the Sunny Photo shoot

Thanks Pat - the photos are really terrific and the car is a blazer ("please forgive the dirt" - WHAT DIRT!!!). I think you have sold me on this color combination with the black wheels for a JCW coupe. It is both striking in appearance and yet all seems to tie together into a cohesive package.

I really appreciate the extra time and effort for these photos.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the pics.

Just found out mine is sailing on the Courage. Left Southampton on 11/23. Supposed to arrive in B'more on 12/5.

I thought about that John but determined it was over the top. If I were 25 I might go with that as it is I'm not and decided against it.

The plate holder is great thanks a lot!

Pat (I hate that road tax, they get enough of my money as it is. )

As an added bonus Craig red cars have proven to bring more at resale and I have never experienced additional attention by "the man" because of the red color. My experience is just the opposite. My silver GTO gets more attention. Of course if you drive like an idiot all bets are off.

I don't think you will be disappointed in your choice.

Thanks for the information on the no-holes front license plate mount Pat.

So @johnf36 do you sell your no-holes mounts? If so, how do we buy one from you (and how much)? Also, do you happen to offer one for a 2005 R53 as well?

Thanks again Pat you have really been helpful. I hope i don't overstep your good will but, if I may, I would like to ask a couple more questions.

In one interior shot, I can see a black and white checkerboard-like rectangle on the dash (passenger-side). What is this? Does it come from the factory or do you have to order it? What is it called?

Are your JCW license plates from Mini - I only saw polished metal ones at the website not the black ones that you have and that I like.

And finally, are the rubber floor mats from Mini - I noticed in one of your original shots at the dealer you had carpet mats with a fluorescent-like white border.

Thank you and sorry to bother you again.

Craig

I've been going back and forth with my MA today. He was all, "Your Coupe loaded onto a truck on Friday and I expect it here today, just waiting for the truck!" Then later on in the day, "truck isn't here yet, but it should be!" And I thought I was the impatient one.

I scheduled my delivery for Thursday afternoon. BRING ON THE MINTY COUPE.

No problem at all Craig I'm happy to give you the lowdown.

The answer to your first question is yes that is a factory JCW decal that is attached to the dash. It's a checked flag. It's a nice touch. I think it only comes with the JCW package.

To your second question the license plate frames are from Mini. They actually say John Cooper Works on them and like you stated the black frame. I think pretty much all Mini dealers carry them and if they don't have em they can order them. I had the SS on my R56 but wanted to go to the JCW type.

And lastly the mats are from Mini. They are the rubber type that hold water, mud and debris very well and fit the car very nicely. It rains a lot in the Northwest so I wanted to save the mats that came with the car for summer use. The dealer actually gave me these mats at the time of purchase. I had the same ones in my R56 and really like em. They have Velcro on the drivers side to hold it in place which is real nice. I think all dealers carry them and if not they can order them. I wish they had some that say John Cooper Works on them but I haven't found any yet.

I hope that helps you out. Like I said before I really like this car. The sound system is great, the car is fast and really easy to drive and so far has been trouble free. I have about 1800 or so miles on it.

Take care and Happy Motoring.

Once again Pat - thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your help.
As I was following your posts after you ordered your new coupe, I believe that you had mentioned you were having a protective service done - Invisashield? Is this a spray applied at the dealer. What part of the car gets it and is it supposed to prevent chipping from stones? Does it work?

Thanks again and I promise not to bother you anymore - at least for a while.

Craig

Just got a call from my MA.

The truck carrying my car has broken down in Wisconsin. They're waiting on a part, hoping to be back on the road this evening, or they may need to send another truck.

WHAT IN THE.

All I can do is laugh at this point, I mean, really.

I can see a waiting truckdriver taking each car off his truck and doing donuts with each one to kill the time until a replacement truck arrives.
