R58 MINI Coupe Roll Call
I called my dealer today and heard that my coupe is on a ship arriving in Brunswick GA on 11/3. Should be ready for pickup 3-7 days later so I should have it here in Atlanta by 11/10. I must be on a K line ship that left on 10/22 probably the California Highway same as JamesDay24 (they didn't give me that detail today). Glad it is finally on its way! I was thinking it was still sitting and waiting for transport so I am very happy!
MA just emailed letting me know that our Coupe has finally arrived at the dealership. Whohoo! Should be able to pick it up today!
Really bummed to hear about xcoupe and Herby74's troubles with their new Coupes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that ours will be trouble free.

Thanks jbs111. Yours isn't too far behind mine.
MA just called and said that the PDI (Post-Delivery Inspection) and detail have been completed and so we're off to pick up our Coupe now. I'll try and post some pics of it some time tomorrow.

If I only drove a car 3000 miles in a year I would spend next to nothing on a car. Don't know that I could justify the cost of a mini. I would have to buy a cheap Kia I think.
My wife's Coupe' was released from VDC to a truck company in Brunswick yesterday, but remains portside. The MA estimates it will not get on an actual truck until the weekend and will likely make the 668 mile trip so that the car will be here on Monday. At least the car has gotten a lot of time on the waterfront - eight days in Southampton and more than a week in Brunswick.
Sign me up - just put my deposit down on an order - might be December before it goes into production - the long wait has started.

One month post-order, I clearly needed to harass my MA. Lo and behold, my Coupe is in production, scheduled to complete 11/2.
Gotta give a big high-five to that online tracking which still says I'm on order, and 866-ASK-MINI who believes I'm scheduled for production pack. I know others have said they're a bit slow before but when even the customer service folks didn't know it had been in production for the last 4 days or so, that's just plain evil.
My MA seems to think it'll be here the week of Thanksgiving. I'd like some of what he's smoking.

Now we're getting somewhere - order placed 8/3/11, build slot rc'd 10/3/11, prod. completed 10/28/11 ('posidly) - chance of catching the fast boat to NYC 11/2 or am I dreaming?

Ours was supposed to hit the dealer yesterday. Apparently though its still sitting in California. Just like the all of my order to date more tiem spent waiting. Was released to the carrier 3 days ago and has yet to move. Feeling a bit raw over the wait so far. I have the ealiest production id, have had to order placed since 7/16 and still find that everything continues to delay it finally getting here. Pretty much means there is no chance that I will be getting the coupe this month and even worse just sitting in limbo.
I feel for you, jdurdick. I'd been trying to give my order to my dealer since about mid-July as well, which they finally took on 8/6 and entered into the system on 8/8. Mine is still making its way across the Pond and won't be close to delivery until about 11/9 at the earliest. My MA is off 11/11 so my delivery date is looking like 11/12, still two weeks off.

Guess they have been pushing on the trucking company and have yet to get traction, they have four cutomer cars waiting for transport, three fo which where there even before mine. Don't have the fondest feeling right now for Waggoners Trucking.
My MA told me the new trucking company has been a near disaster from Day 1, and has not improved. But they saved money!!! Lesson: you get what you pay for.
Hi All,
Sorry to be so late on posting pics of our new Coupe.
It's the best looking and most fun driving car that we've ever owned to date by a long shot (including all four of our other MINIs). We've been having an absolute blast driving it around town the last few days.
Anyway, as promised, here are some pics of it for you guys (sorry that they kinda suck, I'm an awful photographer):

The Coupe looks absolutely amazing in person... None of the pictures do it any justice at all. You really have to see one in person and drive it in order to appreciate everything that the car has to offer.
We're really happy with our spec as well... We kept it pretty basic this time around. Our last R56 had more than $11k in options on it but we're done configuring cars like that now. Thus, we kept the options on our new Coupe to the bare minimum and only went with the options that we felt we'd actually use on a daily basis, and/or those that make the look of the Coupe to us.
We're totally LOVING everything about it!

Thanks. Love the look of yours too! We really wanted Spice Orange but couldn't get it with the JCW Package and so we went with White Silver instead.
We plan on keeping our Coupe 100% stock. The only thing we're going to do to it is tint the windows (as we do with all our cars). Love the look of your Coupe with the tinted windows. It really blends the top in with the rest of the car.

3000 already! You've been doing some driving!
