R57 Tire Replacement

Tire Replacement
I was wondering if anyone has replaced tires yet...if you did, what mileage did you do it at and what tire did you choose. I have 23k on my 2009 and am thinking it might be time. There are a ton of choices. I do not need all weather tires but do want something good in the rain. Ideas?

I am running Continental ContiSportContact3s and I am pretty satisfied. I have read numerous reviews and these have been in the top spots usually, especially in german tests. The runflat ones are BMW star-marked as well.
Another alternative I have read good reviews about are the Hankooks Ventus V12 evo and the S1 evo (depending on the publication).
Are you planning to stay on runflats or switch to standard tyres?

Looking to stay with run flats as they have gotten better. I had an 03 coupe and hated them..replaced with regular tires. I want to keep this car as close to stock as I can. I am surprised however that at 23k I am looking to replace them already. I have had rotations, etc. lots of choices out there!

Although I do think they have a few thousand miles left on them, but they are definitely more worn that I would have expected at this mileage.

Tire Rack or Tire Depot or one of the other online tire stores. The dealers will kill you on tire prices. You can get a complete set of 4 tires mounted for $800 or right around there if you buy them online. And that's run flats.

Just hit 29.8k miles and had to replace my stock run flats. I went with the Yokohama AVID Envigors. Mostly because I really liked Yokohamas on my old BMW e36, and it was a good price point.
First impression? Oh hell yes. Better acceleration and braking. The cornering feels different, but I haven't done enough hard steering to get a feel for it yet. The ride is significantly more comfortable, too.
I'll post a followup after I go hit the mountains or a couple canyon roads.

Bought my r57 used last year. Just replaced tires after 10000 miles from me. I didn't rotate, that slant of the rear tires necessitate it. I wanted to go wider and non run flat... ruff ride killing me. Found a 235/40/17 at pep boys for $69 each, got lucky. H rated, but I'm no track guy. Same diameter and slight side wall difference so doesn't affect computer. Definite difference in ride... much smoother. Wide stance looks good too.

We went from run flats to Michelin Super Sports for our car. I don't remember the final cost but the tires are amazing and consistently get great reviews. They do tend to be a little more expensive than others, but do well in the wet and on dry pavement. I would recommend the move from run-flats, for the same price (or less) you'll get a much better riding tire with improved handling. You can find some inexpensive tire repair kits for some peace of mind as well.
