2009 Mini Cooper Low Tire warning lamp
2009 Mini Cooper Low Tire warning lamp
So my car gave a low tire warning today. I went and put air into the tires and tested the pressure but, it is still giving the warning. It shows a red warning lamp on the gauge directly behind the steering wheel that shows a small picture of the underside of the car and all for wheels and, then on the odometer the warning light that is yellow with the exclamation point in the middle of it, indicating the tires have issues. Once I have done the air did I need to somehow rest this warning, or was it supposed to reset in it's own?
Thanks!

check your owner's manual
the pdf version I have for 2009 says page 61 - section on TPM system
"each time tire inflation pressure has been corrected .... reset the system."
this is done via the button on the left steering wheel stalk . . .

also note the stated life of the batteries in the tpms wheel sensors is 5 years after which the sensors need to be replaced as the batteries are potted and cannot be changed
if your batteries are done, the warning will come on
if your batteries are done, the warning will come on
