So I have a question for you D! Had the DMC's first International Dining meeting last night with passports and stickers for the country we visited that night. Sat next to a newbie in the club who moved down from Canada six months ago. So the table is chit chatting away and we decided our next country for a dining experience should be Canada. Yet this newbie could not tell us what dining speciality Canada is famous for. Can you clue us in???
Beer...definitely Canadian beer...which is much stronger than yours!
Secondly, some of our delicacies are not clearly defined, as Canada is hugely diverse in culture. If you wanted some local dishes...I would suggest Aboriginal / Metis type food, like deer, elk, moose, buffalo, or bear meat with berries and such. Then there's the Maple Sugar (and it's related fudge) and pancakes from our Quebec cousins, and smoked salmon from our west coast compadres, and bread products from the central prairies, and if you really wanted to get exotic, seal or whale blubber from the arctic! East coaster's have lobster, seal flipper pie....Does this at all help you?
Yeah, the beer is what we came up with last night We have come to the conclusion that we are just going to meet at a brewery that night or secondly, someone's house and just bring (or smuggle in) the beer!!
OK. I know there are picky eaters out there and I count myself among them in certain things.... like gravy! Yucky! I'll stick with beer and pretzel sticks that night!
Rooandren, I just noticed you have a #1 in your NFR siggy.... Are you special? Were you the first NFR?
Yes, CJ, Roo is No. 1...at least in North America! He retains the honor and glory and circumstances bestown upon such degree of distinction! And I was the No 1 Canadian NFR....I get to carry his rubber donut as he moves from ceremony to ceremony!
Well, I don't think I was the first NFR in general, but around these parts anyway. But I'm just an all around numero uno kinda guy <hears wife falling onto floor in laughter>

Where's your #1 with the maple flag embossed in it??? I'd point that out to the graphic artist if I were you!
