Missing Bubbles, eh? Any ETA on her return?

Why so long to get it fixed? Is this a parts issue with Minis?

Yeppers...it takes a while to get these parts here. But maybe now there are a few more parts around for this model car, so hoping it doesn't quite take as long.

Oh crikey! Sorry Dennis, that's a real stinker! Are you having it serviced through MINI? A lot of my headaches were a result of working with an outside collision shop...and insurance, doing 3 (THREE!) supplemental claims. I didn't have any particular problems with getting parts, but maybe shipping time for you is a bigger factor.

Well enough, I suppose. It's all a very long story, but it was not in any way acceptable that it took from Jan 1 to Mar 7 to have everything completed--a time period that included maybe a total of 2 weeks with the car back and 4 weeks sitting around waiting for insurance.

And in other news,

I saw in another thread that gokartride has spotted the mysterious woolly Skuzzy, so at least he is safe. Hope he is well.

And look at what I spotted last week! An original NFR Mini!!!

So odd thing happened yesterday... I think rosey is either trying to eat me or just didni't want me to leave her in the wal mart parking lot, but as I was leaving to go in my skirt blew up and got stuck in the door. no big deal right, i'll just open the door and free the skirt... NO SUCH LUCK! The stupid door jammed and the locks and everything. I was freaking attached to my car. I tried unlocking, nothing, I broke out the actual key and tried that, and the locks freaked out. I'm starting to panic, I don't want to run aroudn the wal mart parking lot in my underwear! Thank god it was only attached at the bottom of the skirt so i was able to tear the skirt to free myself and it wasn't that bad of a rip. I go aroudn to the passenger side and try to open from the inside, nope, not working. try the toggle switch and that just makes the locks freak out again. At this point I'm like, ok, walk away, take 5 and go get the things i need and then i'll worry about it. I call my dad while i'm in the store and big help he is, he just laughs at me. But he does look up Mini's number so I can see if anyone's had this prblem in the past. Go figure, the number he gives me is bad, so i'm back at square one. Then I remember they have stickers all over the car with their number so I'm happy again. I get out to the car and realize the number is for the 800 number and they're not going to be able to help me as much so I figure I'll try one more thing before I call. The door had stuck in that limbo place where it is latched but isn't. You know-that place where a butt bump does the trick. So I decided to try the mother of all butt bumps and lo and behold, as soon as it latches fully, the locks spring open and I'm good to go. Turns out my skirt was stuck in the actual locking mechanixm in the door. Oy- from now on I'm being more careful on windy days when I'm wearing floaty skirts.

Maybe just take your skirt off before you get out of the car?

I'm revisiting buying a Mini (going from a '99 M3 and an '88 M5). If no one minds, can you rate my options list and see if I missed anything or if I did anything wrong? I'm not yet well versed on Minis. Thanks.
- Nightfire Red Body and Roof (non-turbo, of course)
- Sport Package
- Front and Rear Fog Lights
- Manual Transmission
- Center Arm Rest
- Anthracite Headliner (no sunroof)
- Gravity Tuscan Beige Leather
- 10 Speaker Hi-Fi Sound System with Hi-Def Radio
- JCW Strut Brace
- Mud Flaps
- Rubber Floor Mats
- R90 16" Wheels

Thanks.

I really love the convenience package. I love the keyless entry and push button start. I also have the cold weather package (yes even in Arizona!). I have used the heated seats because it gets cold here to me! But depending on where you are, you could skip that but IMHO not the covenience pkg!

I too love the convenience package, So nice to be able to hop in and get going a few seconds faster. I also have my days where I wish I had the heated seats, usually after a long afternoon at the dog park and i've got a wet dog sitting in my lap on the way home, but they're not necessary. I would do some searching on the mud flaps, I've read in a few threads that they don't really do anything,

What's everyone's favorite interior to perfectly match Nightfire Red? I'm leaning towards beige leather, but the cream throws me off a bit.

I went with a gray interior with the English Oak trim. I think it is beautiful. But you would really look at the interior pictues of MINIKITTY's Rosey. Hers is georgeous with the colors you are thinking about!!!

EDIT: Apparently I'm thinking about someone else's MINI.... I'll have to backtrack through the postings and find it! That by no means detracts from Rosey's beauty however!!

I just have the basic interior. nothing special, not even the anthracite headliner, you might be thinking of someone elses car, I don't think I've posted any interior shots of Rosey... but I sitll love the way she looks on the inside, the lighter grey seems to open up the top of the car.
