I was happy to find out a carton of eggs fits perfectly tucked in between one of the triangle cargo nets and the wall of the boot. I can do a grocery run and drive frisky!! In my old car, everything just rolled around the trunk.
Gee-MY MA said to use it for milk. Works both ways, I guess!
The OEM Boot Box works well for holding grocery bags.
Yessss, I've been eyeing that, but my MINI fund is a bit low at the moment. Add to this thread "I didn't know my MINI would generate such fantastic accessory shopping opportunities."

Yep, milk on one side, eggs on the other (or bread, or peaches). I want to put bread on the parcel shelf, but my SO throws a fit about that because the manual says not to put anything on it. :impatient
Maybe because they've given up on the U.S. ever adopting the metric system? I remember when we debated in school on whether or not the U.S. should do this. That was...ahem...decades ago.
ok, here's a strange one. the wheel wells (outside) are lined with what appears to be the same carpeting material as the trunk of any BMW, but black. Never seen that before. This is an automotive first I believe.
I didn't know that after 3 weeks of owning the car I still wouldn't be able to adjust the volume on the radio with the little ****, only the steering wheel controls. I'm sure I could just RTFM, but should I have to do that to figure out how to adjust the volume on a radio?

A complaint in the Consumer Reports article was that some of the controls are non standard. That's true, but not a major problem in my opinion. Admittedly some things take a little getting used to, but once I drove my little Chiquita for a while I got used to it and the really good things about the car vastly outweigh those niggling issues.

I spotted that stuff last week when I washed my new MCS for the first time... I wondered what it was!
So far, I completely agree that the good outweighs the bad, but does anybody know how to adjust the volume using the ****?
The other "problem" is that I can't find a good place for my grande latte to sit in the morning. The front cup holder is too small with the the rubber thingies and causes said coffee to drip all over, the larger one behind the e-brake is too big for a safe fit. It fits okay back there, but I feel like I have to drive carefully.
Yes.. What's up with the felt??? I noticed it yesterday during our R56's first car wash as well. I just thought that the wells were muddy and then I noticed that they're actually felt lined. Very strange...

use the **** by the cd slot. not the one in the speedo.

Not really strange at all. More of a "form follows function" thing. My father restored 1950's runabouts, spiders and roadsters and felt fender liners were standard fare. The felt wears well, dries quickly and is light and inexpensive to manufacture and replace. What's not to love about that?

I pulled the 'rubber thingies' out, and my coffee fits just fine. Made the mistake of leaving the rubber thingies in the car, and my next passenger gave me a look like, WTF are those?
I didn't know how hard it would be to activate the power to the lighter sockets (both front and rear) with comfort access.
Actually, I still don't know how. If you leave the key in your pocket, how do you turn the ignition on without starting the car, or just going into 'radio mode' (which doesn't provide power to the sockets)?
