R56 Things you didn't know about your R56 MINI
I, myself, am glad you posted it. I had my 2005 MC for two years and never knew I could turn the **** to get rid of glare. Now on my R56 I have an auto dimming rear view mirror so I don't have to worry about it.
It wasn't meant as a slam. I seriously thought you were trying to be funny.
When I first read it I also thought it was said sarcastically. I think you just never were aware that your cars had this feature. I don't think any car made for the US doesn't.
Someone is gonna lose an eye (or a bumper cover). :-) Anyone try pulling the e-brake in an empty parking lot at those speeds?
Does that mean it has three modes -- full on, partial on, and full off?
Oh? I've been pushing the heck out of mine never thought of holding ,will a light come on?
This has blown the minds of many in my MINI:
For those that do not have auto-dimming rearview mirrors, the next time you are on the road at night and the lights of the cars in back of you are glaring, just twist the **** underneath the rearview mirror. Somehow, the mirror flips up to the right, but you can still see out the back at exactly the same angle, but without the glare! Then you can twist it back to the left. I still cannot figure out how it works! Hard to describe, but you will know what I mean when you try it for yourself.

mine doesn't do this... :-( i've tried a mix of all settings... i've gotten my baby to do everything else listed here (that's she's able to do) except this... is my baby a slow learner?!
If you use your front driving lights - with non-xenons when you select the high beams your front driving lights will go out.
With xenons, (with your front driving lights on) when you select the high beams the front driving lights will stay on. The only reason I can suggest for the difference is the bi-xenons are single bulbs.

I have the Xenon's too. I wonder if there is an option to set or something.
The seat belt warning tone is set to about 10 pounds on the passenger seat. Patiently seated my 10 pound dog didn't set it off, but when he started walking around, the tone rang, and wouldn't quit until I fastened the seatbelt (behind him).
If you have your headlights set to auto and they are off, turning on the fog lights also turns on the headlights (I find this useful sometimes).
Daffodil, I don't think it's the dog's weight, but how much the seat is pushed down. The paws will push down much further than, say, a 10 lbs. book because the weight is being focused there.

fogs and brights are always (properly) wired not to work together. This is because using brights in fog increases glare and reduces visibility.
There was a brief time when MCS' were not getting the jack because they had no spare. However, it seems that popular demand has prevailed and the jack is again included with the S. I got one with mine when I picked it up a week ago.

, unsafely, I went 18!!!! mph haha staright back.....mhmmm...thank goodness no one was there.
