Can I ask where in Ohio your dealer is? I'm booked on the Freedom, and find it unusual that my car is also due in SC, and I'm in Detroit. Maybe they are diverting some cars to SC for some reason...

 

Fingers crossed I will be on that boat too, I am starting to give up checking ASK MINI, it makes my blood boil! Just hope my MCS gets on a ship soon, it has been at the port for a week, and it's probably freezing cold and shivering in that cold British weather, poor thing Also hope it doesn't get water marks from all that rain.

 

Don't be suprised if you're not on a WW ship...seems like QUITE a few aren't with these early production cars. Mine sat at the port for 9 days I think before I found out I was on a non WW ship.

 

Well, from my other thread, it would appear that other cars destined for Motor City MINI in Detroit have gone through S.C., so this appears normal.

I can stop panicking and enjoy watching the Freedom sail, as she was loaded on about 3 hours ago. She is slated to sail today, so that means in the next 3 hours she should be on her way.

Just checked in with my MA at East Bay Mini in Northern California. I asked him how long the process takes once the cars are sitting at the port. He said that it can take a further 8-15 weeks till it finally arrives at the dealership. If this is true, this means that I am not expecting delivery of my car till March or April. I was really hoping the end of Feb like I was previously told by my MA. He also said that once it arrives in the US port they do a bunch of checks for scratches etc, and this could tack on time. I think today is my final day of checking in with ASK MINI on a daily basis, I am kinda getting sick of the whole process to be honest, I get excited as my MCS passes another step, but I tell ya this has been such a long process from when I first put my deposit down in Aug 06. I am starting to loose heart! Anyone else feel the same?

Yeah, I ordered my MINI through East Bay Mini (Blair) and I'm fed up waiting and not being able to get any info. on when it will be transported. I mean 15 weeks!! Thats getting on for four months! At this rate i won't get my car till May.

 

seems there must be alot of minis sitting on the docks right now. I know someone who's mini has been sitting there since the 18th. Mine has been at the docks since the 22nd

 

Are you sure they really are at the dock? I thought mine was until I found it had already departed--both the internet and the ASK-MINI sources were reporting "at dock" until I spoke to a human.

 

As far as 866askmini and my dealership know it's sitting at the port waiting for a ship. updated as of 5 minutes ago...

my MCS is still sitting at the dock, checked with a human at ASK MINI and it's still there, checked WW Site still not checked in. I dunno what the heck is going on but I am sick of it!

 

mine was week 3 then all the fuel pump probs put it back to week 7

 

I checked Ask Mini, she has been released to the carrier and is awaiting transportation to the port of exit. Hopefully she doesnt have to wait long!

 

I am in the cleveland area. All the cars that i know from around here have come from SC.

 

The MA says mine's supposed to dock in SC around 3 Feb.

That could put it on the WW Integrity for a 4 Feb arrival, which docks in NY and Baltimore first, and left on the 20th which might work. K-Line doesn't have anything that seems to match.

Could this just be WW lag? Or are there other lines it could be on bound for Charleston?

Well I can't seem to get a response from My MA about what ship I might be on. The OL now shows "En Route," but I am not sure which day it changed since I was out of town. I checked the Port of Charleston where my car is supposed to off load and the only ship it lists that it could be is a Wallwnius and Wallenius ship due in on the 10th. The problem is that according to the WW site when I try and track by VIN it doesn't show up on any of the WW ships.

The best I can tell is that I am on the Freedom as it corresponds to when my MINI left port and is about the same expected time.

Does anyone else have have a similar problem?

 

You could be on one of the K-line ships, shown as 'CAROLINA SHIPPING AND' on the Charleston port schedule. My MINI was offloaded yesterday from a K-Line ship. If you aren't showing on the WW site after ASKMINI shows you in transit, you are probably on a K-Line ship. Sooooo, there are several due in the next few days.

 

Thanks for the information. I couldn't figure out how the K-line ships were identified. It is likely then that I am on one of those since I can't fins anything on the WW site. If my MA would call me back I might be able to find out more.

Do any of you happen to know if any ship carriers OTHER than Wallenius Wilhelmsen are bringing our "kids" to the SoCal? According to ASK-MINI and the tracking website, mine is sitting and waiting to be put on something bound for here. The WW tracking site doesn't recognize my VIN. Any info out there?

I did, I did. But I didn't find any clear info on which ships other than WW may be headed to SoCal, and how to verify that my MINI is on one. Plus tracking info. SO.... again, if anyone has that info, I'd appreciate it.
