R56 Power Window and Fog Lights...... HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi there,

I am a new mini owner, so apologies in advance! I was recently upgrading my interior bulbs to LEDs when I stupidly touched the glovebox light with a metal screwdriver, it seemed to spark - and the light now does not work.

I didn't think much more of it, but have since found that my power windows do not work, however they still move when closing the door. I cannot get fog lights to work either. There may be other things to fault which I have not found! I have checked the corresponding fuses and they seem ok.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks,
Alex

Why are you doing electrical work without removing the power source first?

Apologies, like I say - I was having a mind blank! Had changed them over in my old corsa with no problems, just this one bulb I forgot to remove the power source!

I would start by unplugging the battery to reset all of the electronics. Then trouble shoot from there. You might just need a reboot.

Brilliant, thanks for your help! I have since played around with the fuses and have got everything to work except the interior glovebox light. I think it seems to be blowing the fuses when it goes on, and then effects all of the other functions I previously described!

It is all OK with your high/low beams, turn signals, rear fog light, etc?

OK, just to discard a problem with the FRM.

Yeah, everything else seems to be working ok - do you think disconnecting the battery and reconnecting will sort it. I have ordered some 10a fuses to replace the blown ones. I did a bit of a shuffle around as a couple were on features my car doesn't have (phone connectivity etc)
