Stay away from the DV that vents to atmosphere, it will trigger a unmetered air leak code causing you to go into limp mode. Buy the DV without the air vents, I installed one two years ago and it's the best mod under my hood! Between shifts when you're back on the throttle you'll feel it since this DV dumps less boost than the stock DV, the Forge DV is also faster since it runs off vacuum from one of the MAP sensors.

+1 The Forge DV is really great quality. I've installed many of their products on lots of different makes. If you have an N14 R56, I believe the one you'll want is FM207V, but you can call Forge to confirm. We sell these valves also.

I've never had a problem with my Forge atmosphere valve! i ran it on my stock cooper s and never had a problem now am runing it on my stage 2 and still no problem's after getting the upgrade spring. "blue"

spring guide line
Green - 5-10 PSI, Yellow - 15-23 PSI, Blue - 23-30 PSI, Red - 30+ PSI.

25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% respectively.

Would the spring values for the N18 be the same? I have the FMDVR60A. It has worked flawlessly, no Check Engine light or anything else. But, I do have a fluttering sound, after blowoff, especially after installing an AFE cold air intake. Other mods are in my signature. Ideas, anyone?

Not being totally familiar with turbo engines just yet, it sounds like blowoff happens, then there is a light "chuffing" sound, but only if I let off while in full boost. If I grab the next gear, just the blowoff. Not turbo surge, for sure. Just a louder blowoff, as I am dumping to atmosphere. I need to make a video. It sounds pretty cool, and I have heard large vehicles like trash trucks make the same sound. I have no issues with the noise, just want to make sure it's normal, kinda.

you will have to make a video' when Diesel trucks make that noise thats turbo surge! diesel generally don't have bovs ! do you lose any power when it happen's do you hear a boost leak

I do not lose any power. Our fleet recently consists of mostly CNG heavy duty vehicles. I have heard it on diesels, but not as much as with the CNG rigs. I thought turbo surge was a different deal. This is not under boost, but when letting off from full boost. Like when not changing gears, just letting off from full boost. Like when you are not going to the next gear, just letting off from full boost, then backing down.

Maybe the N14 had a problem with the Forge BOV, and not the N18? Mine has been fine with no CEL for a couple months now.
