NCS Expert Mods Lab

Hi, there

I'm researching for two (2) mod through NCS Expert for my red baby:

1) I know there is a way to change the "low fuel" warning. Factory coding says: there is 10 orange LEDs (1/10 tank). If there is less than 3 LEDs on (3/10 tank), then, all LEDs must be red (2/10 tank, 1/10 tank then empty).
I want to modify this by changing the variable to change the "color".
I want red LEDs only when there is less than 2 LEDs on instead of 3 LEDs (2/10 tank instead of 3/10 tank).
It seems this is related with the KOMBI module as in BMW is.

Any experiencie with it?

2) My red baby only use Castrol Edge 5w30 (better viscosity on the summer) and Motul X-cess 5w40 (better viscosity on the winter).
Both oils must be changed every 15,000 miles, but my oil change warning is configured to trigger the alert every 30,000 miles. I can just reset the value through the tach, but I can't change the value of the miles between warnings. It seems there is a work to do it with my best friend NCS Expert.

Any experiencie with it?

For the point 1, I could find some "tank" variables:

TANK_RED_REICHWEITE
wert_01
TANK_OHM_FEHLER_UG
wert_01
TANK_OHM_FEHLER_OG
wert_01
TANK_MITTLUNGSZEIT
wert_01
TANK_OHM_FEHLER_OG
wert_01
TANK_MITTLUNGSZEIT
wert_01
TANK_SICHERHEITSFAKTOR
wert_01
TANK_BERUHIGUNGSZEIT
wert_01
TANK_SCHWELLE_RESERVE
wert_01
TANK_RW_WARNUNG
wert_01
TANK_SCHWELLE_AUF/AB
wert_02
TANK
wert_01
TANK_VOLL_ERKENNUNG
wert_01
TANK_FILTER_STEIGEND
wert_01
TANK_FILTER_FALLEND
wert_01

It seems here should be the trick:

TANK_SCHWELLE_RESERVE
wert_01
TANK_RW_WARNUNG
wert_01

I believe that the oil service interval is in the 4BMOT module (DME module).

It is also part of the vehicle order so you should be able to change it there. There is a list of all possible vehicle order codes in the NCS Expert install files.

Great info! Thank you so much!
I have experience on changing VO (adding xenons, MFSW, Sport Button and others).

Thank you again, I will be searching for the correct VO

The codes are in the file R56AT.000 is located in the DATENS folder. Open it with a text editing program like notepad.

OT But... I'd recommend you change your oil more than every 15,000 miles. Somewhere between 5000-7500 is advisable.

very true. 15k is way too long. You may not see the effects but there will be consequences in the longrun for the long interval. Maybe do a walnut clean and then start a new shorter interval program
