Moisture and condensation in the reverse light?

I just noticed my center reverse light has moisture and condensation in it. This is SoCal and I'm not even coastal (17 miles inland). It hasn't rained here in I don't know how long. My last car wash was at least 5 days ago too. I would think this light would be a sealed light, unlike the head and tail lights, but maybe not.

Does anyone else have this issue? Did they ask and get the dealer to replace the reverse light? Any suggestions?

Seems rather odd for a new car that hasn't seen any rain or bad weather...

Contact the dealer today (if service is still open) or Monday and have them take care of it for you.

Eventually I will. May wait until my first oil change so I don't have to make a special trip. Although if I happen to be driving by the dealer and have the time I will stop by to see if they can swap it out quickly.

No one else has/had this issue?

Anyone know how much trouble it is to swap it out? Knowing that will give me some leverage if they tell me they can't do it if I stop by on the fly.

Personally, I hate going to the dealer. It always seems to take forever to get anything done even if you have an appointment and frequently they create problems that didn't exist before hand.

You can have it replaced or if you don't want to go down there you can fix it yourself(which I don't suggest since you are under warranty). Put it in the oven with the door open and heat it up. After which you can pry it apart. Let it dry out for about 24hr and then repeat the step with the oven but, leave the part separate until the glue is soft and press them back together.

Ha, ha, ha... Won't be doing that.

If I knew what it takes to remove it (with or without removing the bumper is key) I can always pop it out and hand it to the dealer in exchange for a new one. Haven't even tried to crawl under there yet and look at it. Will have to do that today...

If anyone has removed this please post up. Thanks.

You can pop it out without removing the bumper. The dealer won't exchange it that why though. It has to be in the car so they can see you didn't tamper with it.

My 2012 has this issue in the tail lamps. My local dealer stated that is no issue with the lamps have water and condensation in them. In my opinion they are wrong. Warranty should cover it. When my 09 MCS had water in the side markers they warrantied both lens. So why not cover the tails?

Talked to them today. No problem at all. Setup an appointment next week to have it replaced under warranty. Way to go Mini!

Stuff like that happens. It's not normal and should be replaced. Both of the front fog lights had to be replaced on my wife's MCS. Not a problem since.

All fixed and they also did a thermostat recall replacement while it was there under warranty. In and out in 1.5 hours. No more water in my boot!
