I sort of wish I had gotten the black xenon units. I like the pop the blue makes against all the black.
One thing to note is that to get the adaptives you have to get xenons (duh hehe) and auto wipers/lamps. So $100 option is really $350, assuming you already got xenons. Those getting the Conv package only see the $100 on top of the xenons though

 

RipCurl: I probably wouldn't have gotten them on the order, if not for the dealer freebieing the Xenon's and the adaptives. Plus, I'm pretty sure that the blackened reflectors, or whatever you want to call them, aren't going to be shipped on a JCW. Motoringfile has said for six months that they would NOT be made available, and when they had the "Ask Vinnie' last month, he said the same thing. Now, supposedly they are on the configuring site as available for the JCW? I think not.

My JCW is on order, so that order will stay. I think that I got a good deal, it's as close to what I want as I could get, so it's done. Now the wait until Election Day.

2011 Black/Red roof & mirrors, H&K, Cold, auto dimming mirror, rain sensors, garage door opener, Xenons and Adaptive.......Think that's all.

Has anyone tried to order Mini Connected yet?

 

Has anyone else noticed on the configurator that the JCW tune option still costs $2100 but now only gives you 8 more HP (181). Those are expensive ponies.

I will be, but can't as of yet. Its no on the order forms at the dealer yet. Could be late Sept ordering for Nov build or Oct order for Dec build. Won't know until the dealers have the allotment for the nov and dec production. My MA will let me know when I can. The wait just to order is killing me, prob wont have it by Jan at this point.

I had thought that this was 195hp, but that is probably the European number. They rate horsepower differently that we do here in the USA.

As for the Mini Connect, I read on Motoringfile in August that this would be able to be ordered in late September for November/December delivery, but who knows for sure. The way that they slammed together the configuration, who knows. I remember my sales rep telling me that the reason for the delay in bringing forth the configuration was that Mini wanted the site perfect. Right!!! It's perfect all right.

 

MINI Connect will probably never work right simply because other technology it connects with will outpace it. But the way BMW is going about it with abilities to upgrade the software is a smart move. I'm sure it will work the best of any nav/radio system out there

Next boat out to Baltimore is 9/20, arrives 9/28. So I'm slating the first few days of Oct to see my baby! Perfect timing to take him out to the Shenandoahs and get some twisty experience while seeing the leaves. Camping trip will also ensue because my two camping buddies do not think he'll fit everything...hah!

 

Congrats on the progress Wahoo! It looks like my car is making it onto a boat leaving tomorrow. 'course with the longer distance to cover it's not expected to hit port until Oct. 6, so you may still have yours before me. Glad to see they're moving quickly, though!

Hemi, my Clubby is out of the way, so yours has plenty of room to get going in production. The last digits in my VIN is 0133, so I'm assuming I'm #133 of the new ClubbySes, so it's possible they're putting more focus on the MCs and MCSs, not JCWs or Clubbys. Were you able to get a dealer slot or are you in a holding pattern? I had a dealer slot but it still took ~2 weeks to get started, so just hold out for another week or so and maybe yours will get going

chak: nice color choice It's such a sharp color on these cars and the contrasting black really makes the color pop but not turn into "annoying blue". You'll have to keep us updated when you order, this has become somewhat a "support group" for anyone with an early 2011

Yep! Mine's getting loaded on the boat today and through www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ I can see exactly where the boat is when it's in coastal waters. I watched it pull into Southampton last night.

Mine waited about a week in port--I'm sure yours will come soon. Now let's hope the navigators are looking at those weather forecasts...

 

wahoo-shoe: Nope, no dealer slot, just on order right now. I was think that I didn't want it before November 1st and that ordering right now might get it here too soon. If it doesn't get into production before October 25th, it might not make before November. My dealer did finally run my ATM money thru yesterday though. Is that a good sign? So now it's been one week since ordering, at least that's over with.
