The new motors will actually enter production in March - for the rest of the '10 model year. The '11 refresh (with more changes) will come at the normal time later in the year, in the fall.

First post hehe...
So does this mean that if I order a Camden MCS in March I would get the 2011 engine? (that would be awesome)
Does anyone know anything regarding the '11 refresh, I've researched on the changes for 2011 but have not found much except for the rainbow paint.
You might not be able to order the Camden that is an anniversary model probably will only be for this year model.
Yeah I know it's only available for 2010 model year, but KevinC was saying that "The new motors will actually enter production in March - for the rest of the '10 model year" therefore I would be getting the new improved engine... in a 2010 model and would still be able to order the camden package, right guys a little help... thanks!

Based on what we're hearing from Gabe over at Motoring File, who has been a fountain of reliable insider info for years, the new motors will enter production in March, well before the end of the current '10 models... meaning you SHOULD be able to get a '10 Camden with the new motor.
As for the '11 refresh, if you look at the interior of the new Countryman, I'd guess that we're seeing hints of the '11 refresh's interior. For instance, the center stack elements are black rather than silver, which would address a common gripe about the center stack having a "Playskool" look about it. Also, the example in the photo has nav. If you examine the stack, other than being black, the pieces look just like the current ones - except that instead of a separate CD slot and removable panel with volume and other controls hiding the navi DVD slot, there is now a single piece with both a single slot and the controls. To me that implies that the new navi is hard drive-based, which would also almost certainly mean hard drive storage for music (which BMW has had for a couple of years), which would be awesome. Might only come along with nav, or might be part of the '11 HK package, only time will tell. Or I could be wrong, but these hints seem pretty strong.

that is effing cool! I will ask the sales person just to make sure when I make the order, and I'll let you guys know. That's gonna be the icing on the camden!! lol...

Any news? Did you place the order? Should my next car be a Mini, it would most likely be a Camden and I'd love to get the new engine if at all possible!

Reason: Typo.

If you want the Camden, then get after it quick because you can only get it for a short period of time. The "new" engine won't be much better than the current one so don't hold out for that feature.

We were going to place the order a week ago, but our MA suggested we wait till the end of the month (Feb.) to assure the production date to be the end of March. He did not know which week of march they were going to start with the new engine. We should be going this weekend to place our order

Yeah, maybe you're right (i.e. the new engine won't be much of an improvement). But if only a few weeks would allow me to get the latest updates in my Mini (engine-wise at least), I'd rather wait... My dealership told me we could order Mini Cooper Camdens until the summer at least with no problem... If I order one, it'd be in April most likely, so hopefully that would be ok.

So you are indeed trying to get the new engine in your Camden S huh?! I hope it will work out for you. I'm guessing if you're able to do it, I should to - even if I'm up North!
