R56 Anybody regret not having the Cold Weather package?
It's supposed to hit the upper 30s in Vancouver next week--I wish the MINI's air conditioning was better. One of my few complaints with this car.
On the OP's topic, I have the heated seats--I would definitely, definitely regret it if I hadn't. It's all worth it when you sit there and your bum and lower back are enjoying this wonderful, radiant, glowing, warm sensation...

I will never have another car without heated seats and I live in Atlanta, GA!
The MINI heated seats show thier BWM roots as they heat up in seconds - much faster than some cars that I have had previously. Personally I think it is one of the best $500 you can spend on options and the cold weather package is the same price (or was when I ordered this April) as the seat heat only and you get heated mirrors too. I have also used them in the summer if I've overdone the yard work and the back is a little tired

My wife loves heated seats. I don't mind them for the initial heat, but after a while, it's like you sat down in a seat someone else was sitting in... for me, that's uncomfortable.
That being said, my Cooper came with the cold weather package, but not the premium package, and I am totally happy with that, due to how cold it gets here in Colorado!

I think Lexus has them, Its a thermoelectric chip that when voltage is applied it gets hot on one side and cold on the other (Peltier Effect) when you reverse the polartity the hot/cold reverses so they can heat or cool the seats. Interestingly, if you apply heat it created a current, which BMW has a prototype exhaust that uses this technology to generate as much as 60 or 70% of the cars electrical needs(relieving the alternator) and improving efficiency by as much as 10% (mpg)
lets see a IC with Peltier cooling!

My first heated seats with in my Focus SVT and i have never gotten a car w/o them since. In my 09 the winter package comes w/ the power fold mirors which i use every day for parking in Hoboken. I have seen to many cars with mirrors ripped off from a car that got to close.
