Most of the junk in the adventure kit is made in China, it would have meant more if the stuff was made in the same place as the Mini...

Huh???? I got a bound journal with a black plastic cover. Saw the same thing at Staples for .99. Maybe I got a cheapo kit because I ordered the basic MINI. With an S model I guess you get the turbo AND the foil embossing.

That is very strange. Mine is a hardcover book with an elastic strap that holds it shut, and has a red ribbon placeholder. Very nice, actually. And I only bought a base MINI too. Go figure.

6months after buying my MINI and 4months after receiving my Adventure Kit, I just received my "MINI PARKING ONLY" stencil. Too funny.

Cheers!

We received the stencil about 1 week following purchase of my MCSa. The return address was our dealership. The Adventure Kit arrived about 2 months later, and was exactly as described.

Interestingly, I asked my sales agent (Sterling, VA) specifically about what swag I'd be getting. He said that the Adventure Kit was the only thing that BMW/MINI is now sending to buyers of new MINIs; everything else is specific to the dealer. This is the corporate policy of BMW/MINI. Accordingly, he then took my wife and I into their sales shop, and gave us both our pick of one each: hat, shirt, and keychain.

I picked up my car on Dec. 11th so I called MINI USA to get my Adventure Kit. The guy who answered the phone was puzzled and went to ask someone. He then came back and said it was a Welcome Kit that came from the dealer and I'd get it in about 4 weeks. Now I'm puzzled.

Got my kit last week. There was a pen, journal of sorts, Mini cards, crazy colored glasses and a decoded(both used to decode secret messages on their ad), different words for window decal game(someone said I should put "Full of Sexy" for my window although I'm thinking of "Full of Motor Sexy" :P, and er couple of other little crap. :P

Dealer only gave me 2 keychains. ;/

The Welcome Kit we received was a JOKE! PERIOD! Go out & buy a nice toy for your MINI & forget about the dealer, they already forgot @ you.

The Adventure Kit I received had some pretty nice doo dads in it. Sure, nothing too extravagant but when was the last time Ford/GM/Chrysler ever sent you anything after buying one of their lemons?

From the dealer I received a full set of all weather mats including 1 for the boot. Cargo nets for the boot (not sure if those were standard or dealer added) and wheel locks.

I hope I get an adventure kit...

That's where I got confused. I thought the Adventure Kit came from MINI USA and they didn't know anything about it. MINI said there is a welcome kit and you get that from the dealer. I just thought it was weird they hadn't heard about the Adventure Kit. It isn't THAT big of a deal, but not everyone who buys a MINI has tons of money to go out and spend on mods so any freebies are nice to get.

Ohh my goodness, you scored BIG! I had to buy the rubber boot matt and I might get the backseat rubber mats as an xmas gift if I'm lucky.

The only cool thing in the adventure kit that was nifty was the Mini colorforms. I use the notebook and pen to keep track of gas price and miles per gallon.

I'm thinking of starting a "waiting for anything from MINI" countdown...

Ordered on April 18, 2008 (already registered on the MINIUSA website) - that's 244 days ago
Registered on the Owners' Lounge as soon as we had a Production Number
Took delivery on July 2, 2008 - that's 169 days ago

So far, the ONLY thing I've received from MINI or my dealer was a two question email survey. When I responded, I asked someone to contact me to follow up... never heard back from anyone.

Three calls so far to MINI about the Adventure (aka Welcome) kit. Been told it is on its way, but never received anything.

Nothing else. No Roadside Assistance card, nada.

Not exactly an impressive performance.

Hey SPF Zero,

Yeah it's frustrating but stuff will come . My Mini Adventure Kit showed up exactly five months after I took delivery of my car. Your roadside assistance card is in the Kit. Everything that I got came long after I picked up my car but it did eventually come.

I'd punt on the adventure kit stuff. You'll probably have traded the car in by the time they ship you anything. You're welcome to take my stencil for free- even my adventure kit too; it's just not exciting anymore, ever since I found the "secret compartment" in the kit...

I got my MINI Cooper S on 11/15. No freebies at all then or since.

I wasn't terribly impressed with either the dealership or my MA, but then I'm spoiled by the great dealership/service I get for my Nissan. Still, I can't see them sending me anything free. I'd be surprised if they did.

I got the email asking me to fill out a survey but I haven't done so yet. Maybe I unintentionally ticked somebody off?

Two days short of two months after delivery--and the MINI motoring kit arrived at my doorstep.

I love how they label it:
