Another one joins the brotherhood.

I finally did it. After many hours of research and drooling over MINIs, I finally ordered mine last Tuesday. Here's what I got.

Laser Blue/White Roof
Sport Package (With Crown Spokes)
LSD
HiFi
Leatherette

Kinda basic, but it kept the price down. Final price, before taxes was $25,200. Anyway, this wait is killing me. I don't know how I'm going to wait 6 weeks. I'm going crazy.:impatient

Did you add anything else besides the above? From what you have it should be $24,850

Welcome to the obsession. One way to deal with the wait is to track your MINI through production and transport.

The 1st Gear forum often has a thread for a specific production week or specific ship with tracking info. If there isn't already one for your week, you can start one.

Congrats, and welcome. BTW, to be PC, the thread should read 'Brotherhood and Sisterhood'

They charge extra for anthracite headliner? Why?

Also, I bought my MC used, so I don't know how much you can negotiate on a new Mini. Or, do they sell at MSRP?

not sure why. it kinda pisses me off but im not gonna get too worked up about it. i think that and the white turn signals should be free. its just a simple color change.

anyway, they normally dont negotiate on MINIs if you order it, only ones on the lot. even then it isnt much, at least not in my area.

supply and demand

They charge extra because it is low volume. Perhaps 1% of cars actually get this option therefore they do not have the leverage to get a lower price.

All mini's typically sell for MSRP unless you option the heck out of it they may cut you a little slack

It is what it is, but does not make sense. When you order your Mini, don't you order the color of the interior, trim, dash color....................... Do they charge extra for anthracite on the dash and doors?

Mini charges extra for everything, most of which should just be build options, it's likely the only reason they've been able to keep the base price the same with the fallen dollar.

how clear turn signals, anthracite headliners, or different trim & color lines cost any more at the time of build is beyond me.

Still, even with some customization/options, the Mini's a very fair/reasonably priced little hotrod.

now if only they'd hurry up & get mine off the dock & onto the ship.

mine is pretty basic also.......

MCS

premium package
Leatherette
Auto

the final price was 25,050 before tax and the extended warranty.
and yes the wait is pretty bad i ran my cell phone bill up pretty bad for about a month or two cause i keep calling to check on the status of it. i got mine 6 weeks to the date from when i ordered it, but the wait is well worth it!

That's a nice package, it's a lot like mine. I've had mine on the track 3 days and I feel like I got a LOT of car for the money!

yea, its an S. i forgot to mention that as well. i posted while trying to pay attention to something else and obviously forgot some details.

i cant wait to take it to the track myself, only problem is, no tracks near me. well, there's the drag strip, which is kinda lame in my opinion but i will probably take my car there eventually just because its relatively close. other than that, any track would have to be a weekend road trip. i have heard that there is autocross near me on the weekends though which i will check into. moral of the story if feel lucky that some of you have tracks near your house with turns in them.
