Crown Spoke vs. Web Spoke... HELP!

OK, so I'm having second thoughts about my wheel selection. I'm pretty sure there is time to change it. I ordered Crown Spokes but I'm liking the Web Spokes now. Are there any differences in weight or is it just looks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

R98 web-spoke (two-piece) ET48 22.3lb (10.1kg)

All I've found about cross spokes was an article stating they were 2 lbs lower than S-lites (25.11 lbs) so that would put them in the 23lb range

I've got the web-spokes. Like the look, not hard to clean, a little wheel cleaner, sponge and brush, can fit my hand in between the spokes to get the inside.

I just realized that if you get the Web Spoke wheels it adds $500 to the Sport Pkg. I'm getting aftermarket wheels anyway (black w/ chrome lip) so it's not worth it. I gotta stop driving myself crazy

I'm just going to leave it as ordered. Thanks guys.

Save money now and pick up an extra set off the sale list. I went crown spoke and if i do not like them, i will buy webs from someone who does like them and not have to spend extra up front and have a full extra set of wheels for nearly the same cost.

I went with the base 16 inch wheels (didn't want to spend anymore money) on my MCS but of all the styles the crown spokes look the best IMO. They look really clean and substantial and they seem to fit the car in regards to style. Good luck on your decision and you really can't go wrong either way. They both look good on the car.

I got the crown-spokes cuz I absolutely LOVE the way they look. And it's true that they look bigger than the web-spokes even though they are the same size.

Good plan. Both the Crown and Web Spokes are heavy. Get some good light-weight wheels later.

You've already decided (and it sounds like a good choice if you are planning on aftermarket wheels anyway)... but since I've had both (ordered Webs, delivered with Crowns - replaced with Webs after 3-weeks) I figured I'd chime in:

The Crown spokes look bigger due to the one piece design. The shape really fits the rounded contour of the car nicely. I did not like them at first (I prefer the more shapely S-Lites for a few reasons), but they started to grown on me as the days went by. My biggest complaint: covered lug nuts. As I like to check torque (once a month, or after every lapping session on track days or after spirited driving) I HATE prying those coveres on and off. It was only a matter of time before one scratched, cracked or chipped.

Once I got the web spokes on the car, though... no contest. A true 2-piece wheel that's a couple pounds lighted and looks a ton better (the shape and polished lip). They're great. I'm glad I forked out the extra dough.

As far as cleaning goes: I can say from experience that one is no easie to clean than the other. They are both about the same getting into those little cracks and crevices.

My plan now is to buy some cheap S-Lites in order to mount a dedicated set of winter tires.

I also have both! I ordered crown spokes with all season tires. The wheels look great on the MINI, but I also like the web spokes as well. Lucky for me, a fellow NAM member sold his web spokes to me for an awesome price. I now have crown spokes for winter and web spokes for summer. I find the crown spokes harder to clean.

My wife and I both have Web-Spokes on our cars, and have never regretted them for a second. Even after seeing all the other wheels in person, I'd order them again tomorrow.

I love the webspokes, but it's not worth it if you are going aftermarket anyway. The crownspokes and runflats would make for a good winter combo if your winters are fairly mild...

msh441,
Thanks for the comparison shots. Very nice. I really do like the Web Spoke wheels but I'm going to get aftermarket anyway because I ultimately want black wheels with a polished lip.

I don't want to have two sets of wheels and tires. In the winter time, if the weather is bad, I'll just drive my truck (3rd vehicle).

Thanks guys for all your responses. Much appreciated.
