Well this thing about online tracking once at the VDC is starting to be a big joke.
Arrived at East Bay Mini at 12:15 pm, Blair is off today so my MA Robert was actually there and talked with him.
My Mini is has not arrived and when he checked the VDC it is showing a delivery date of 08/13 not the 11th that I have been seeing since Tuesday evening. He is now confused why Blair called on Wednesday and told be it would be in this weekend. It is showing that it has been released to the carrier, but at this point they don't know if it is still at the VDC waiting for a truck, or if it is on a truck, or if it could be on the truck that has not arrived yet today.
I'm being told that once it shows released to the carrier, Waggoners has 5 - 8 days to make the delivery. So I know about as much as when the Tarifa was at sea and not trackable.
I did find the over flow lot and where they unload the trucks, it is all fenced in but found a small area that I could spy through and found about 10 Mini's waiting for PID. Only one CR convertible but it was a MC not MCS.
Did not see any MCS CR colored on the lot or in the shop, but then I was not able to go past the gate to the back storage behind the Mini shop.
Just checked OL and it is still showing the 11th, so wondermini may have the rifght idea, just leave NAM and wait for a stupid phone call from the MA when ever they get around to it. impatient

 

That is so frustrating! I really hope its on the truck thats arriving today. Its seems to weird why Blair would commit to that when he didn't know for sure! Are they going to call when the truck gets in?

My CR convertible is a MC (not S)... so maybe that was it.

 

I doubt it they seem really clueless and not concerned that us dummies are tracking online and getting anxious. Robert like Blair reminded me that the OL is not always dependable, so that really makes me feel it is worth even checking the stupdid OL sight.

 

Do you know whom you talked with that set the pickup time for you ?
I'm keeping fingers crossed that they were more reliable and know for sure your Mini will be ready and waiting.

 

Thats so weird considering (like you said) they tell people to watch OL.

 

Hmm.. I thought it was Josh, but I am not 100% sure. It started with a J and there are 2 people on their website that start with J, so it could have been Jesse. I hope the car is actually ready on Sunday too.. as its an hour or so away from me.

 

Was asking becasue when I asked Robert how your car could get ahead of mine, he was clueless and stated that no one had made and scheduled appointments today. So it looks like none of the MA's keep the other MA's updated. Which is really dumb, since each MA does not work 7 days a week.

At this point if I was you before treking to East Bay Mini on Sunday, I would call and verify the date/time/

Robert and Blair are suppose to be working this weekend, but then consider my sources for info.

 

Just talked to Josh at EB Mini and he confirmed that my Mini is actually at the dealership and will be ready for me to pick up on the morning of 8/11/2007. Hurrah!

Congratulations !!! Looks like you are doing well on the delivery process, be sure to post pics for us that are still waiting.

 

Honestly, it sounds like the information they get is not reliable or is as reliable as the OL. Until your car actually shows up at the dealer.. they don't know anything. Its annoying. I think it would be weird to give out the wrong information knowingly and I don't think they would do that and risk their reputation as being the better mini dealership around. i don't know though.. it seems weird.

I will call them on Saturday evening to verify its done, but since its there and they have 2-3 days (including yesterday) they should have it done. They wont be open when I am driving up Sunday.

 

Agreed and why I'm conused about Blair saying 11th and Robert the 13th. Oh well, it will arrive when it arrives, not the end of the world, would be nice to know by now if I need to stay in the area over the weekend is all.

I'm sure since I seen a car like yours, it will be there and ready, the shop was not all that busy today and several Mini people just hanging around. So it should be there all spotless and ready to drive home.

 

How long do you think it would take for my mini to get to az from the vdc? My MA is M.I.A lol

 

Is OL showing any date for your delivery yet ?
The Tristan docked at Port Hueneme on 08/01 (the ship that was ahead of Tarifa) rattmobbins lives in New Mexico and had a dealer delivery date of the 7th.
You can find more exact info on his delivery in the week 27 thread. So if the planets align right for you, a week would seem the longest, but then this is just my observations. As you can see from my posts here, my delivery is still unknown and I live 365 miles north of the VDC, I could have flown down and driven it back in 6 hours.

 

I was on the Tarifa, no update on the OL, says En Route still

 

Then you are like the rest of us, wait till the OL updates and"trust" that date, or call the dealer and talk to any MA, they can inform you of what dates they see. Either way it can be frustrating , so good luck.

 

Have been checking OL in hopes of it updating for weekend delivery.....well it just updated, but now moved the date till the 13th.

ok, my OL finally updated, it has a delivery date of today.. since I haven't heard from anyone, i'm assuming it's not happening today lol.. ok NOW i'm getting the crazies, i've tried ignoring it for weeks, so I wasn't CONSTANTLY thinking about it, but NOW it's soooo close!!!

 

Picked up my Mellow Yellow MCS this morning (8/11/2007). Out the door from EB MIni at about 11AM. Spent the afternoon cruising around the SF Bay area mainly on 280, 84, 35 and 1. This is my first Mini...and I REALLY like this car.

 

Congrats on taking delivery, seems you are the first of us at EB to do so. Like your color choice, MY was our second pick, tough decision on color choice, I don't think there is a bad one. Happy motoring and enjoy.

With luck tonic should be doing the same in the next 15 minutes or so.

After a few days away from NAM, I'm feeling a little more sane about this entire process...and to help me along even more, I logged on to OL today to find my delivery date has been moved up to 8/14!!! I talked to my MA and he confirmed he expected it this week. I hope to pick it up on Wednesday (or Thursday at the latest)!!
