R56 All aboard the TARIFA *** July 2007
Any change in your delivery date ?
OL is still showing the 13th so it has not updated, so I don't know if the 15th that I was told yesterady is accurate either. At this point I'm stuck waiting for someone at East Bay to call and schedule an appointment. Till then I will not know anything. :impatient

Or, they'll stare at me blankly and tell me the delivery date has been moved back to 8/17.
It's anyone's guess.
One of us having dates advanced every few days is enough, really hope you take delivery as scheduled. !
Tharkun & Wondermini - I hope you get calls soon!!
I know I got lucky picking it up early, but this CEL thing is strange. We got an appointment at Mountain View Mini for the 22nd. I guess they dont think its urgent. I've been reading the board lately and it seems a lot of new minis have CEL issues. Lovely.
I also got an email from the Sales Manager at EB MINI. I am sure its a stock letter but it basically said if you can't rate them all 5's in the MINI survey, to call them. At this moment, I'm not sure I could because of the CEL issue.. which I know is not totally their fault but its really not cool to call me 15 minutes before and when its a 45 minute drive for me. Plus a couple of other minor annoyances (not calling when the car came in, the finance guy half joking about getting discounts on Apple products from us, not faxing or calling paperwork when they said they would). There were many other good things too though (ordering was smooth, quick order-delivery time frame, salesman went over the car well, no high sales pressure, matched interest rate, people were nice, etc). So its a mixed bag for me. I don't think I would rate them poorly but not sure if I would do a 5 in all categories because of the CEL issue.

Since I'm still waiting for a reply to an email to my MA on Sunday, it seems the manager is fast in getting an email to you about giving a rating. Appears to me she is aware there coud be issues to cause less than 5's and now wants to resolve it. I talked to her when I had problems with there delay in paying of the trade in, she was going to call be back within an hour, never did. With all the dealings with the sales staff so far, I will not even be close to 5's. I will gladly drive over and take the time to explain all of my concerns and issues with here if I receive an email as you did.

I'm still amazed they deliverd a new Mini with a CEL problems, that should have been found during the PDI they are suppose to do. Even if it was a freak thing and did just first appear 15 mins before your arrivial, I feel there should be some type of compensation for you needing to wait for an appointment, then taking your time to take the car in to solve the issue.

On the bright side I hope you are enjoying the new toy and have time for some motoring, still lots of good weather for it.
ok, my OL finally updated, it has a delivery date of today.. since I haven't heard from anyone, i'm assuming it's not happening today lol.. ok NOW i'm getting the crazies, i've tried ignoring it for weeks, so I wasn't CONSTANTLY thinking about it, but NOW it's soooo close!!!
As I expected...my delivery date has been moved back. Not too horribly--it's now tomorrow instead of today. I should be able to pick it up on Thursday. They have record it was loaded on a truck yesterday and they say it takes two days from that point. I don't believe them.
I wasn't really expecting good news, so I'm kind of ok with the extension. I figure the worst case scenario is that I pick up the car on Saturday.
UPDATE
Are you sitting down ??
I just had a call from one of the MA's I have been dealing with, his words were " your mini is being unloaded right now" We are going to be there at 5pm to do the paper work and take Mini home, now if we don't have the CEL problem like tonic did.
My OL is still showing the 13th, the MA says his is still showing the 15th, so hopefully yours will be on the truck and there no later than tomorrow. The dates don't seem to be accurate, so if you are on a truck, you are really close now.

Taking both camera and handy cam so should have some pics uploaded this evening. Taking the back roads home on the 30 mile trek, as I just made a 9am appointment for tomorrow to have the paint protection/tinting/windsheild film installed in San Ramon. So will be taking the back roads on that trek, staying off the Altamont Pass till Mini is protected.

SKEETER is home safely !
Delivery went smooth, took about 2 hrs 15 mins, so far no CEL problem, and odometer had 4 miles, now 68.

How obvious is my vicarious happiness for you? I WANT MY MINI!!!

Meet SKEETER !!!
The MA's I have been dealing with re-gained some of my respect this evening by doing the following :
1) From the time Waggoner's off loaded Skeeter to the scheduled dlivery time was about 3.5 hours and Skeeter was all shined and sitting on the show room floor locked and waiting.
2) Full tank of gas and set of carpet floor matts without needing to ask.
3) Finance Manager was great, no hidden charges added to the contract, paper work complete and added the correct sales tax for the county I live in.
4) MA did not rush in explaining the options, features of Skeeter and did the set up of the cell phone. Our LG 8300's work fine with Skeeter's blue tooth system including the phone book import.
5) We had walked away from Skeeter to Blair's desk for paper work. A customer walked in and was looking at the 3 Mini's on the show room floor. Blair was first to notice the guy was opening the door on Skeeter and walked over and nicley told him this Mini was a customers and locked Skeeter up.
So over all the delivery was smooth and painless and actually enjoyable.
So here is Skeeter !

Buster has been waiting 59 days to meet his new buddy!

Buster is axious for his first ride with Skeeter !!

Now it is wondermini's turn, crossing fingers for delivery tomorrow !

He's beautiful! (I assume Skeeter is a boy?)
Congratulations! I can see it's all worth the wait...
I'll let you know tomorrow how it goes. I'm not under the impression they would hurry to give me the car on the same day as delivery. (I've also not heard a peep about free floor mats, but that seems to be a theme on NAM, so I think I'll ask).
OH PLEASE LET IT ARRIVE TOMORROW!!!

Yes it's a boy.
There was a lot of thought about going with the chrome packages and mirrors, Mini's do look great with no chrome....but in the end we gambled on the chrome and now having seen it, are very pleased with it.
As so many other have said, yes it is worth the wait, and after 15 minutes with the car seems all the headaches are forgotten.

Do try for the floor mats, mention all of the stress over delivery dates and also that East Bay is doing it.
Let us know as soon as you have a confirmed delviery, and it HAS to be tomorrow !!
Thanks for the encouragement. I've been in a funk all day. Initially thought one more day didn't bother me, but I was wrong. I'm tired of driving my husbands box (Element) around. It's anything but fun.
I'll update tomorrow...
Enjoy Skeeter!

Hang in there, your Mini is on a truck so it has to either be there now or early am.
Skeeter and I are off at 7:30am for San Ramon via back roads to have the paint protecton/tinting done, that will kill most of the day. Will check NAM for updates as soon as we return home. Good Luck !!!!
