Do you know its call sign or what country it is from? There are twelve vessels called the "Freedom" that have reported on AIS.

Ok, this might help me help you. On the WW tracking page, what is the booking number number that is listed on the tracking results page after entering your VIN?

So as of 10:00 a.m. here here we are if you share this vessel with my Mini...
I'll try to help, what is the booking number that you get from the WW site after entering in your VIN?

Looked through sites again. The Faust was sold and now carries the Liberty name. When you plug in the Faust while searching for the ship on WW it directs you to the Liberty.

This should be correct.
Please keep in mind not all vessels are reported on www.sailwx.info, from what I've seen, maybe 40-50% report using the system. However, I did find the latest info from the Freedom on AIS when it left the European reporting area. Here is the last thing they were reporting on AIS. The call sign for the Faust is SLKQ, it is not reporting on sailwx.

The sailwx site can be confusing if you don't have more information other than just the ship name. In my previous posts looking for the Freedom you can see where there are many ships named the same thing so it can be very confusing if that is all you have to go by. Anyway, here is the pic from AIS as it went out of range.

You're very welcome, if you click on the image thumbnail and then click on the image when it opens in a new window you see the full image. In the lower portion of the screen capture you'll see all sorts of information on the ship, including an expected ETA at the destination port. In ths instance, the ETA is : 29/7/2007 16:00:00 UTC

Yes, us on the West Coast have at least a 21 day wait while our babies are transported. Actually, I found it by the booking number you gave me, when I looked at WW I saw it departed today. I figured she'd still be within range of the system and I was able to find out it's first port of call to make it easier to confirm I found the right ship on AIS. So I hopped onto AIS and looked for it there.

If you haven't signed up for the free version of AIS you can here. You'll then be able to track it until it goes out of their range. The images from the free version are about an hours delayed and they don't refresh as fast, but it is free!

I know. I didn't know if you hadn't fully expanded the picture or not. I can relate to the impatience. The Isolde has been 19 days out from Southampton so far. I'm hoping she'll make Port Hueneme on Monday. But it will probably be Tuesday because my free trial to AIS expires on Monday .

I placed my order on 5/11 so it should be just under 3 months that I'll have waited when I take delivery. But oh, the wait will be worth it in the long run

Oh, you lucky dogs, it appears as if the Carmen broadcasts weather data via www.sailwx.info . If you do a search by her call sign SGIW you'll see some data from July 9th. If you increase the search hours up to 720 you'll be able to see her progress even further back. Once it leaves Southampon and gets far enough out to sea, you should be able to get position updates every 6 hours. I'm jealous, jealous I say!! Every ship should be required to use the system.

I don't know which would be worse, Mike not being able to get info on the Carmen through sailwx or his checking it every 6 hours for 12-13 days on its way to Panama and then again for another 6-7 on its way up the coast to CA. And no, there isn't any point of checking it more than every 6 hours, it won't update any faster than that.

I keep hoping this will get "easier" for him...but, alas, that's not meant to be. He's pacing like an expectant Daddy in the waiting room.

I...might...not...survive...this...MINI...experien ce. :impatient

this is awesome. Simpson, you're the best. With your help, I may not be forced to sedate or restrain Mike for the next 4 weeks. You're a good man. You contribute materially to the safety and sanity of society
