1-866-ASK-MINI tells me she's at the port, but no shipping information yet.

 

That isn't completely accurate, the East Coast ships leave on a variety of days, they are served by three shipping companies, WW, NYK, and K Lines. The West Coast is served by WW.

 

If its going to the West Coast, it won't show up on WW until sometime tomorrow.

 

I forget to mention, the West Coast ship usually departs every Monday, however last week it left on Tuesday.

 

Just checked up on mine...in the body shop...should be done saturday.

 

Mine is being transported to the port - whoo hoo! Time to start obsessively searching for my VIN on WW!

 

Actually it was changed a few days before departure and did leave on Monday.

For the next 6 weeks the schedule is for Monday departures, showing no departure for the week of 08/13.

 

Ahh, was last week's ship the Tristan? That is the one that I was thinking of, it left on a Tuesday instead of Monday. I'm starting to get my weeks confused now.

 

Last week was the Tarifa, which I'm waiting for, hope to have the Mini the third week of August .

Confused ?? That can not happen when Mini tracking is so simple and easy. :impatient

 

I remember now . I guess its a good thing that I was getting the weeks mixed up, it makes the wait go a little faster. I've been trying to help with information in many of the weekly support group threads that I'd lost track of which ship was in what week . If only it were three weeks from now (that is about when I expect to take delivery (the first week of Aug)).

 

Just a simple question: ASK-MINI says the car is being built this week (in paint shop today). Does this mean it is a week 29 puppy? My MA had said that it was going to be built week 31 ... I ordered 7-13 so this is real fast track :-)

Got VIN on 7-16 ...

Production weeks is one of the questions that seems to be dependant upon whom you ask. Some have been told by our MA as I have, that once a car is in production that is the production week and does not change even if the car is completed in a following week.
Others on this forum contend the production week is determined by the week it is completed. So guess you can decide which week you care to use as a production week.

 

Car was released yesterday for transport and should be at the docks now according to ASK-MINI

Nothing showing up on WW site however.

 

 

Woohoo! Great news Mike. It should show up sometime today on WW.

 

I'm at the dock with you. But I've heard that the cars can sit at the dock waiting for a ship for a long time - over a week. Anyone know anything about that??? Simpson?

 

I don't think this will be the case for Mike's baby. I suspect that MINIUSA has implemented some kind of escalation protocol to move Mike's MINI through the process faster than usual - in order to get him off their backs, save bandwidth with his constant "refresh" of the OL, save money with his constant dialing of the toll-free number, and to ensure that Mike doesn't swim across the pond to coordinate travel plans for his R56's journey to US soil.

 

 

It is when the car is completed determines your week number. Weeks run from Sunday to Saturday. July 22 starts week 30.

 

Oh goody, goody, goody, got the info on shipping this morning.

Got a booking number on the ship: "Freedom" leaving Southhampton and arriving Charleston, SC

Seems to moving right along. Not sure when the ship is departing however, hope it is soon.

 

Freedom is scheduled to depart 07/21 at 18:00.

 

WOW, thanks, how did you find that? I searched and found MANY Freedoms listed, but I didn't know the call sign, so wasn't sure which one it was. I would love to track it.

 

If you check the WW pages and search by vessel, booking, or by cargo you can find the ships schedule.
Also I think the call sign for the Freedom is WDB5483, it shows history on the sailwx pages so you should be able to track the voyage once she is out of Southampton.

Where did you get the shipping info? My MINI has been at the port since Wednesday, but no sign of the VIN on WW yet.
