I've been told Hueneme is the only VDC for the West Coast... I don't think special order Mini's for California go anywhere else...

I agree, curious about not showing up on WW. Keep trying, check in this weekend. Otherwise there must be another shipper other than WW where you might be booked. (and that means harder to track!)

My last mini order was started build 4/25, finished about 4/30... Showed up as received at teriminal about 5/2, but then waited until 5/8 for Titus (WW). So it was a couple days after build completion before I saw it on WW... For what it's worth...

Max the Second is due to finish about 6/18... So, I figure a couple days to get to terminal, then Manon is only about 5 days wait... Less than the seven days Max the First had to wait!

I see 143 vehicles listed in reverse alphabetical order by VIN. My VIN is not there although it's been at the dock since June 13. Anyone else notice the number of vehicles listed for this vessel? Maybe the list isn't complete yet.

 

Hey Brad- I thought Phil was in Northern Virginia, which uses NY (Newark) as the port... I thought the gulf coast has it's own VDC? Won't your mini be on a different boat than Phil's? (you are in Houston, right? )

Ok, for anyone who knows: There must be a VDC in Newark (hence boats going to "NY") that would be for the Northeast, I think there's one in Charlston. (?)... that would be for Southeast.... I think I may have heard there's a gulf coast port/VDC ? And there's one for the West Coast (Hueneme)... Any others?

i got that paint shop update through a live person at askmini the day i posted that... but yah... they're usually late on information.

i just spoke to a live askmini person right now (surprised they're still there... it's 4:45pm PST). and she said my mini got pushed back a day... and is not expected to finish until tomorrow 6/16... "it's being finished assembling." i'm not going to trip... just as long as i can get on the next boat in time to the west coast , which doesn't seem like until the 20's...

 

You got a great dealer there.. my MA wouldn't let me remove my darn bonnet stripes!!! and that was a month and a half before production even started!!! . funny that he would make a big deal over something that was $100, and risk a customer not being completely satisfied. but you scored lucky on an original fast build... too bad it's not what you wanted..

 

Hopefully I'm on your same boat Lady Aquila!!! i'm still hoping that there's another boat out there that would come by before the 25th... still seems crazy to only have one carrier and one port for us east coasters with so many days in btwn!!!

 

Hey howdy- That's lame, not letting you remove the stripes so far in advance! Just FYI (really, just so you know), in California, law states they can't keep your deposit if you change your mind, for any reason. Meaning, you could simply say, "you know, I don't like the stripes..." I mean, it's an option if you absolutely don't like them...

But, I bet they look nice and you'll be satisfied.... I'm guessing we may all be on Manon on the 25th, but we'll see!

 

If I understood her correctly, my MA intimated that an order change could be made until the time you are issued a production number. If that's true Howdy, then your MA was probably either being an annoying control freak or just didn't want to be bothered once the order was placed. I hate when they make up their own rules!

So Birdman, Minibird is your baby's name? Cool! After much contemplation, discussion and deliberation I named my little one T-Bone Scooter.

 

The Freedom lands in NY on 6/25, Baltimore on 6/28 and then Charleston on 6/30. Unfortunately, they say that vehicles bound for Texas pass thru Charleston, SC. According to what I read, BMW inspects vehicles at only 3 ports in the U.S.--none on gulf coast.

My VIN still isn't showing up on Freedom booking, but the number of vehicles listed has increased to 149. I hope it keeps going up.

The Freedom leaves Southampton today at 7:30pm local time, or 2:30pm Eastern Time. Still time to get on board.

I noticed in the week 23 thread, most vins didn't show up for a day or two after, so we still have time to show up in tracking.

Only 154 cars on the booking # this morning. They only loaded 10 cars last night? Dudes, put down the cup of tea, and get Minibird on that ship already!!!

 

OK, that explains it... The ship circles down from Newark to Charleston...

OK, so there are 3 VDC's... Newark, Charleston and Hueneme. That makes sense from what I've been reading. Hope you and Birdman make the Freedom...

Well, I used automated AskMini today... Now says my vehicle expected completion date is 6/19... Started production 6/12. I'm guessing Max is going to be on Manon on 6/25, the timing is just about right by the time it gets to the Southampton terminal...(est. 6/21)

That would put it at the Hueneme VDC 7/16 according to WW. So, I'd estimate delivery around 7/26 or so. Not bad... Garage is mostly cleaned out, but have some more to do...

 

Thanks for the update. Keep workin' on that garage, that's what I've been doing for the past two weeks. And yeah, the time will pass quickly, though sometimes it doesn't feel that way.

According to the WW site, little T-Bone Scooter made it on to the Freedom. I'd love to get the car by July 4th, but hey,que sera sera!

 

yah... i kick myself in the butt for not being more forward on it... made me feel like he thinks he could run over me...

the reason i wanted to remove the stripes was that i saw some cool ones on mighty stripes. but after that issue happened with the stripes with my MA, i talked to my husband, we decided to keep them, esp knowing that they'll be covered by the 4 yr warranty (right?). that was the only change i wanted. so i didn't make a huge deal about it at the time.

but now that i know the type of svc i'm getting fr him... i'm for sure not buying any of the other accessories through him... and HE KNEW that i wanted all these accessories too (checkered floor mats/mirrors, checkered roof, garmin nuvi... etc)... so there's my redemption i guess...

 

man... 7/26?? if that's the case for me too, then that's a bummer... only because i'm going out of town early august.. that gives me less than 2 weeks to play... but yah... i'll just be happy to finally have her... i hope in the future when ordering our next mini, the wait won't be as excruciating

I order my MCS on 05/04/07 with premium, cold weather, rear fog light, M trans. I keep check on ol.miniusa.com. they finally put my order to schu. of prodection on 06/14/07 and they post VIN on the site at the same time. "My saleman said my MCS should be arrived early july 07 when i place to order". I called them today and double check my order. My saleman said my MCS is almost done and will be the US 4 week late. what i want to said is ol.miniusa.com is not updated. Call your saleman to make sure. IF they have any delay problems or if you feel they lie, ask for refund. because many saleman and mag. love to lie on customers.

The booking # still only shows 154 cars, so it's not updated yet, unless there are other booking #'s?? Minibird's vin# isn't showing up yet. Worse case is I make the Undine, only 3 days later. ;-)

I'm going to take my boat out offshore of Long Island and take a picture of the ship as it passes!!!

Remember, for you, once done with the VDC, Minibird takes a quick trip over the Goethals or Outerbridge followed by the Verrazano onto the Belt Pkwy, etc., and home sweet home. T-Bone's voyage is a few hundred miles down 95. You'll likely see Minibird before I see T-Bone. More importantly, the time is drawing near!!

 

Hey did any of you actually contact W & W by phone. I did when I wasn't sure about the info that was posted at their web site. They confirmed that T-Bone is on the Freedom. I don't think they like getting calls from individuals, but I turned on the charm and she checked W &W's internal database for the info I wanted. 201 307 1300
