Its Monday June 11th in Jolly 'Ol England! That means week 24 has begun

 

I called the AskMINI line this morning and the automated response still says my car is in the body shop with completing date of June 11 (today). I'm looking forward to them updating the status, hopefully by tomorrow my vehicle will be "awaiting transport."

 

I got my Vin today. Not scheduled to be completed till end of week though. Looks like the Teledo is out, I'll hopefully be on the Freedom Saturday.

Brad, you just might make the Teledo, if that boat goes down south after NY??

 

I was told (by someone on here) that TX cars go through Charleston. The Toledo goes to Georgia, so maybe we'll get lucky? Otherwise looks like Brad and I will make the Freedom.

Have you asked a MINI MA in Texas which port their cars go through? Maybe it varies. We have the same completion date. Has the status of your vehicle changed yet? When does the Toledo leave?

 

Birdman, Funny... It's possible I might be in week 24 with you.... OL says "On Order", but "Ask Mini" says "scheduled for production". (as we know, OL is usually 2-3 days behind in updating). The dealer thought my production might happen this week...

Anyways, we'll see if I join the "Week 24" production watch... from the West Coast, though....

For others: mine is a last minute re-order, since my first one was never delivered (damaged in transit or at VDC)...

i finally got some positive news from askmini!!! my car has been in production starting 6/9!!!

Right now it's in the body shop, and then to the paint... she estimated completion to be 6/16.

i was so hesitant to call today, worrying they were going to give me bad news... but i was relieved it was good news... but not surprisingly my MA has not contacted me yet...

besides that... YIPPEEE!!!!

 

I just emailed my MA to check on the port. My status has not changed; ASK MINI says it's in the paint shop (same as Sunday).

The Toledo leaves tomorrow and arrives in GA on the 26th (Freedom leaves 6/16 and arrives in SC 6/30).

 

Where in "Ask Mini" do you guy see details like "In Paint Shop"?? Mine only says very generic things: On order, Scheduled, In Transit....

Or are you saying the person on ask mini, when you called. Just curious.

I see a better option for us: the Figaro, which leaves Southhampton on 6/13 (cutting it close) and arrives in GALVESTON, TX on 6/27. That would mean a very short road trip to my dealer

The Toledo leaves Southhampton at 18:30 Tuesday. It is sceduled to arrive Southampton at 05:30, exactly 6 hours from now. So they must load it fast!!

 

My first order was completed on 4/30 but didn't load on Titus until 5/8... So it sat for ~7-8 days on the dock. Just FYI, I think they often don't "cut it close"... But who knows?

Also, I think they do load them fast, from the WW site I could see the loaded time and date for all 363 mini's that were loaded aboard... It took 3 hours 24 minutes to load them according to their tracker...

Let me ask- Have you put your VIN into WW's site yet? Do you get a report or does it say not found?

 

Hey everyone. According to ASK MINI production on my car will be completed on 6/15 which puts me in week 24 with you guys. :0) This wait is gonna kill me lol

alrighty... for the west coasters that are to port the Wallenius Wilhelmsen at Port Hueneme... here's the schedule so far for the next 2 ships for us (unless you're boarding tomorrow's boat)...

MANON- 6.25.07 leaving Southhamptom... to arrive at Port Hueneme on 7.16.07...
ISOLDE- 7.2.07 leaving Southhampton... to arrive at Port Hueneme on 7.23.07...

does anyone know if there are other ships that can possibly be delivering our babies to California... or is it just through Wallenius Wilhelmsen??? i thought i read somewhere that there could be other ships... but maybe my eyes were just deceiving me... :impatient

is Port Hueneme the only port for the west coasters... or are there other ports?

Common man!! Stop bringin' us down!!!

My vin# gets nothing found on the WW site today, so I'm not on the Toledo. Didn't think it would be, since my completion date is 6/15.

The real question is, will I make the 6/16 Freedom, or will she be waiting for the 6/19 undine!! I really hope she makes the Freedom, cuase then I'd probably get the car before the 4th of J holdiay week, which I'm off for. Receiving my 1st, brand new MINI would be a nice way to start the 4th wit ha BANG!!

Do they every finish cars prior to the "scheduled completion date"? I'm suprised it's scheduled for Friday, last Friday it was in paint... ??

I just got off the phone with the automated Ask MINI and it said that my status is "...in the paint shop with an estimated completion date of June 12th...". Sooo it is with cautious optimism that I am shipping some dramaine to my little baby for what I hope will be a weekend departure from merry ol' England.

UPDATE: The live Ask Mini rep told me the car is now scheduled for completion 6/13. He also said there's only about a 50/50 chance that it would make the Freedom on the 16th. Sigh!!!

 

Hey Birdman- I thought mini production takes about 5 days... First Max then also took 2 days from production finish to get to the dock. ("awaiting transport") I think it was around then that WW site showed my mini's status as "received at terminal" If your VIN does show up with WW, they'll also show you what vessel you are on, and if you hit the Voyage detail they'll show you the port of calls and dates for that ship...

If yours started on 6/8, then it should be done Tues (6/12) or Weds (6/13)...

Seems like you are getting close! Let us know if Ask-Mini automated gives any more updates, or when your VIN shows up on WW.

(PS: hope you are on WW, they show a lot of detail, to my knowledge other shippers like k-line don't give you the details like ship schedules)

 

Yea, I was told 5 days, and that many cars are done quicker than 5 days. But who knows, I did order a few things that are pretty new, like the Alarm. Friday I was in paint, and the person on ask mini says complete date of 15th (Friday). Automated still says only "In production", no details....

As for shipping, I do realize sometimes they get stuck on the dock... probably depends on other cargo space on ship, also the train schedule between Oxford and dock...??

But some cars are finished and on a ship same day. See week 23 thread, Gabe's car finished just after midnight, and was on a ship leaving that same afternoon later that day.

I was told by my MA that my MINI production began yesterday, on June 11. So, with 5 full days to build, that takes me to the 15th as my expected completion date.

In Canada, we dont have OL like you guys (I tried at mini.com, but my prod # wasn't recognized).

I'm just wondering if you know which ships will be leaving between, lets say the 16th and the 20th? In other words, I'm expecting the car will be shipped to an East Coast port - but I dont know which one.

Based on that, could you guys put a guess on which boat I might end up on?

It's official, I am a week 24'er: I just checked with Ask Mini (person, not automated). Max the Second is starting production 6/12 (today!)... I even got the VIN#. They wouldn't quote a completion day, but estimating 5 days would suggest ~6/18... Plus a couple (from last experience) to get to the terminal (say ~6/20)

Assuming they ship WW (big assumption, Mini does use other shippers), the next ship up is Manon, leaving Southampton on 6/25, arriving Port Hueneme 7/16... I'd say late in the last week in July is a good estimate after the VDC...
