R56 R56 Week 23 Production Support Group
I talked to a friend at the plant and he assured me everything is running fine. He just mentioned to hope your car isn't built during the "Yellow shift" - the weekend shift where they work long hours. He also mentioned a couple production issues that hopefully were rectified over the last couple of weeks.

Actually, it was the ASK-MINI recording that said it was in the body shop so that was probably yesterday.

this may be a stupid question
, but why would it be a bad idea for a car to go through the yellow shift? is it because the employees are tired and want to go home because it's the weekend, so they don't do as detailed as a job? that's kinda scary... but yah... i wouldn't want to be in that shift eitherso about these production issues that were rectified... any idea if that may be why some of us got pushed back in production?
as of today on ASK MINI call in line---I am in the paint shop. Hopefully some yellow shift guy is not painting the car with a can of Krylon. LOL...
estimated completion 6/5--will I catch the next boat--I think there is one 6/8 and 6/9??? who knows....
Seriously--why agonize over this stuff? You can not control it. Perhaps all this available info is not such a good thing. I had an M-3 that was built over the weekend and never had one problem with the car except for a minor sqeak from the conv't top that was adjusted out by the dealer. Don't diminish your excitement sweating the small stuff. When they hand you the key thingy, you'll forget all about it.
PS...don't call me when the door falls off.................

I just got an email from my MA. My car is status 152 (painting has started) but... she said that updates were less frequent over the weekend so it's possible my car is actually out of the paint shop. Less frequent updates... is that the previously mentioned Yellow Shift again?
I guess it's the MADAME BUTTERFLY on 6/11 for my car

As of just now, ASK-MINI (real person) says my car is in "final assembly, QC". He said then it takes 2-3 days to get to the port. So I didn't just miss the boat. I missed it by about 3 days.
I guess I have a Yellow Shift car...

Hopefully I'm asking this in the right place.
My wife ordered her MINI and we've been trying to track it, however nothing is showing the status of the order.
Today when my wife called ASK-MINI and talked to someone live, they said that they couldn't tell her when her car would go into production, however they were able to tell her that the scheduled completion date was 6/10.
How can they come up with a completion date when they can't even tell if the car is in production?

For me on the West Coast, it's the 6/4 or the 6/11 ship. If something happens and I miss the 6/11 (MADAME BUTTERFLY), I'm going to get really annoyed.

So... it appears that I ended up in week 23 after all, at least my car will be shipping with the early week 23 production.
Rover- I would be east coast (in Midwest) and I doubt my car will catch the 6/9 ship..looks like 6/16 is more reasonable. I can wait BUT I won't like it.
I have an 04 Cooper CVT. The new car will be an S (even though its auto to appease my wife who loves MINIs but is not fond of driving stick shift) so the 07 will be a major upgrade. The Mini is my daily driver but I do have another high perf. car so it'll be a good summer even if the new Mini is delayed.
One of my good friends has an S with stick and LSD close behind me in the order pipeline. He is a few days behind and not yet "in production". Of course, he is not a die hard car guy and is not as cranked up.

Going through QC check now, will be racing to catch the Integrity.
For the East people, the INTEGRITY sails on the 9th and the TOLEDO sails on the 12th, West people, MADAME BUTTERFLY sails on the 11th and MANON sails on the 25th, and maybe some of you made it onto the MAERSK WIND which sailed on the 4th.Go to this site and enter your vin under AUTO CARGO and see what happens.Good luck

Some cars don't go with this carrier but most do.

I'm a Week 23 member also. When I logged onto the OL on 6/3, my car was listed as 'In Production' and my VIN number was listed for the first time.
I'm hoping the VIN number is an indication that the car is built and they are just adding accessories.
Fingers crossed!
